The harbor is naturally beautiful, of course. How could it not be. You have this wonderful piece of Pacific Ocean, with the deep blue colors. The recreational boats give the harbor a very picturesque feel. I took amazing photos, playing with the reflections on the water, especially at sunset. But the water closest to the sidewalk is SO VERY dirty.... More

In one of the most idyllic settings on Oahu, every visitor is let down by the smelly ugly mounds of rubbish NOT being cleared by the DLNR. It would be even worse if they needed to use the one public toilet shared with the many homeless, car dwellers and surfers. This is a place of natural beauty to which many... More

Great view from the ocean view rooms at the Ilikai - lots of small and very large craft - when I walked around it -all I could think of was the theme song to Gilligan's Island

The harbor is close to where the sewage from Waikiki pours out into the ocean, the regulated 100 yards out, but still the smell lingers in this area. Thankfully, the winds are downwards so if you go next door to Ala Moana beach you will have a much better experience.

On the way to Ala Moana wander into the yacht harbor and see the great variety of yachts and launches. You will also see some tropical fish in the clear water. There is also a small bar here so a chance to talk to the local sailers might find you heading out on a boat for the day!
