Very good Children's Museum for Hawaii

This isn't the largest or most advanced children museum we've been too, but considering it is Honolulu this is a very good facility. The museum itself is located on the western... read more

This isn't the largest or most advanced children museum we've been too, but considering it is Honolulu this is a very good facility. The museum itself is located on the western end of Honolulu. Thankfully when we visited the homeless encampment that was in the area seemed to be mostly cleared. There was ample free parking in front of the... More

My husband, 1 year old daughter and I visited here on a recent trip to Honolulu and throughly enjoyed it. The rainforest room is perfect for kids under 18 months with lots of interactive things to do. Entry is $10 each with children over 1 paying full price which I think is a bit steep! However the exhibits are excellent... More

I'll admit, it's not the most advanced or fancy place for a children's discovery center. It could use an update and renovation. However, I like the simplicity. I love coming here with my son and just playing in the "Rainforest Room". We've been coming to Discovery Center for almost a year since my son's first birthday, and he always has... More

This place is disgusting. From the worn out and tired toys, props and exhibits, to the heartbreaking homeless camps directly outside. It's just sad and a true reflection of the education system in this state. A little behind and totally outdated. We set our children up with this type of tolerance. Compare what we spend and what we get in... More

What was once a nice place to take kids is now certified dangerous and unclean. Homeless Tent city has hundreds of homeless many who have been there for years. Lawless unsanitary and recent attacks on even city official documenting the filth and criminally insane. Will never go here again. Fear children could be attacked or witness assaults by gangs of... ...but OK. I wouldn't put it on a "Must Do" list, but if your in town for a week and run out of things to do, this is a decent option for small kids. Otherwise, go to the beach or tide pools. Or visit another resort. Take a tour of the Disney Aulani and enjoy the cuisine.

Seven adults and a four year old had a wonderful experience here. It is one of the best attractions in Hawaii not only for children but also for the adults who enjoyed it as much as the little one. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and were always available to answer questions. What a place! The adults are thinking about... More

We managed to be in Honolulu the same time as the tropical storm! With our 3 year old and 7 year old with us we still needed to get out and do things (that were indoors!). The Discovery Center was great. There were quite a number of other families that had the same idea! Our kids loved it. Heaps of... More

What a great place for the kids! I had to laugh at my 8 year old when we got there who rolled his eyes and said "oh this place is for babies"....once inside he had an absolute blast along with our 4 year old. The kids world is great - my mechanic husband made sure he also had a turn... More

My three children had a great morning visiting this centre. Well maintained, though a little old, friendly volunteers and good entry price. Yes there are more exciting places to visit in Hawaii but it was a great escape from the heat, the kids loved the exhibits, playing dress up and putting on a concert. The water play area on the...
