Spectacular Running View

I always enjoyed taking a brisk walk or a quick run around Ala Moana Park and Magic Island. Especially at Sunrise or at Sunset. Spectacular views.

This is my husbands favorite place on oahu. It is just a short hike from Waikiki but it is so beautiful and very uncrowded as compared to Waikiki. We love this spot so much that we decided to get remarried here in a genuine hawaiian wedding ceremony.

This beach park, is a very nice place to spend some time or day, relaxing and enjoying the outdoor environment. The beach is sandy, and the water is calm in the lagoon area. There is grassy areas to picnic, and shade trees to get out of the heat of the sun if you wish to do so. There is free... More

Yes there are plenty of homeless people, but I would have to call them the smartest homeless people I know because the sunsets here are amazing. The park fills up just before sunset and there is a slow exit, which reminded me a bit of leaving a big sporting event or 4th of July fireworks show... Worth a visit, and... More

There are a few homeless people around but the place is really nice for a sunset. The lagoon is fun to swim in and seems safe. There are people jogging and enjoying themselves. All in all, it is an escape from the Waikiki crowds. Liked it a lot, except for the few homeless people lying around.

I walked in this park several times and put my feet in the sand. If you want to get away from the mobs at Waikiki beach it’s a short stroll over. The several times I walked around there was not a single person on the beach! While ½ mile away on Waikiki you had to pick your way around bodies... More

Staying in Waikiki, we walked over to Magic Island twice and loved it. It is a nice stroll through the park where you can see green turtles and various kinds of interesting birds.

If you want to get away from the hoards of tourists while still being close to Waikiki, this is the place. Great place for a picnic under a shade tree and a great place to swim. Plenty of parking and bathroom/shower facilities, but you should arrive early if you come on weekends.

Very pretty park in front of the Ala Moana shopping mall. Great beach with calm waters. Nice place to spend a few hours, or to paddle board (because of the calm waters).

I went here the other day for the first time and it was a great spot to go for a walk or a swim in the lagoon. There are some nice shady spots and benches to sit and relax.
