If you want to get away from the hoards of tourists while still being close to Waikiki, this is the place. Great place for a picnic under a shade tree and a great place to swim. Plenty of parking and bathroom/shower facilities, but you should arrive early if you come on weekends.

Very pretty park in front of the Ala Moana shopping mall. Great beach with calm waters. Nice place to spend a few hours, or to paddle board (because of the calm waters).

I went here the other day for the first time and it was a great spot to go for a walk or a swim in the lagoon. There are some nice shady spots and benches to sit and relax.

I was brought here by my friend because he knew that I love sunsets he says that this is the best place to see the sunset. We were there walking on the beautiful red mud/ trail juxtaposing the clear blue waters. There were a lot of people there, mostly exercising. We stood on the rocks where the waves constantly hit... Nice views on the ocean, but homeless everywhere, panhandling. We used it as a place to park and meet up with a larger group of friends.

Nice jogging/Hiking trails, this is an excellent place to take a family stroll. The view of the sunset is excellent from this location. You can hit Ala Moana beach which is right next to the park and enjoy a day at the beach then finish off the day with a great view of the Sun set (or may hit the... More

Interesting to visit. Lots of limos pulled up with Japanese tourists who just got married. Beach had a dozen couples in wedding dress taking pics while were were waiting for the sunset. Good place for people watching!

It's ok. Dead reef, surfing way out there, protected is the key here. Beach was a bit rocky but still barefoot walkable.

Magic Island, located at Ala Moana Beach Park, Oahu, HI is a wonderful location to visit. A great place to enjoy a family picnic, or every Friday evening, hundreds gather here to watch the weekly fireworks show, across the bay at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. It is on the Southwest shores of Oahu; as such, the surf is usually small... More

One of the Best Place to Take a good look at Wailikik and Diamond with Fireworks on Fridays. Magic Island used to be a part of the bigger plan to develop a resort areas, but now it belongs to Honolulu resident's favorite place to spend freetime. Sand is not fine for beachbathing but the view of Diamond Head is wonderful... More
