Parking is free! Love it! The beach is nice and clean, with shower stations and the water is pretty calm. This is a lovely beach to come out and watch the sunset.

This was my favorite beach while on vacation! So beautiful and serene. There were many wedded couples taking pictures on this beach. There were also many locals.

Not as packed as waikiki and a convenient beach if you are staying at ala moana hotel. They have lifeguards on duty and its nice to go to a beach that isn't so packed.

I visit this beach every time I'm in Honolulu and I get there nearly once every year. The beach park is pretty much across the road from Ala Moana Shopping Centre - the mega-shopping mall where most tourists and many locals go, so it's easy enough to plan a quick swim or snooze on the beach or under the trees... The park is a great place to take a jog with a beautiful ocean view. There are jogging trails along the ocean and through the park. There are other prettier parts of Hawaii but if you are a jogger, this place is a great option.

We visited the park several times and played tennis on one of the free courts. There are ten available. While walking there we had to pass multiple camps of homeless. There is quite a bit of trash around as there is with all of Honolulu unless you stay in the tourist areas. I would guess bathrooms are gross but we... More

We stayed in an apartment near this beach Jan 2014. You need to pack your own food/ drinks but found it relaxing and a peaceful place to spend a day away from the crowds. Great sand and access to the ocean. Weekends found many of the locals coming down...so we only went during the week..but did see local boys practicing... More

Would not take the kids here, filled with homeless camps. Much better beaches down the street in Waikiki, betteryet, drive over to the windward side and go to Kailua, Sunset or the North Shore for white sand beaches.

I try returning back to Hawaii almost every year. Ala Moana Beach is just perfect. The beach, the road and the Ala Moana Mall with a large food section.
