This is one of the nicer beaches in Honolulu! We usually stay around the Waikiki area because of all the restaurants and nightlife that it has to offer but we always head over to Ala Moana Beach Park. PROS: Parking: Unlike Waikiki, there are plenty of street parking along the beach. Beach: The beach itself stretchs for about a mile.... More

I walked along the beach while I was waiting for the sun to set and killing some time before my flight out that night. The beach is nice, plenty of parking along the street if you are patient. Seemed like more locals than tourists and more sand than Waikiki.

Located down the road in Ala Moana, this beach is rocking on weekends. Across from the Ala Moana mall. He water is amazingly calm. No surfing here, but excellent for relaxing

The park itself is nice with ample parking and a walking path, but the beach is a tad rocky. Nice and calm though for swimming. The real reason to go is for the amazing sunset views! Also, go on Friday nights to watch fireworks at 7:45pm.

This beach park is right in front of the behemoth Ala Moana shopping center. With trails for walking or riding a bike there are many mature shade trees and pick nick tables for having an outdoor meal. I noticed on the weekends there were a lot more locals but there was still plenty of room. A long white sandy beach,... More

This was a nice place to have a picnic or rest. This was a nice place to visit while in Honolulu. Make sure you get there early before all the tourist. This was definitely a place that I loved visiting while in Honolulu.

We spent several days relaxing in this beautiful oceanfront part which is chiefly used by locals. There's a small beach on a cove perfect for young families and plenty of shade. One highlight: every Saturday night beginning at 5:00, boats from the marina line up and head out to sea to begin happy hour. Quite a sight.

It was ok. Not that impressive to us...near the Ala Moana shopping mall. There isn't anything there that would make me go out of my way to go there. Average at best

The Ala Moana Beach Park was a nice little relaxing beach where one could sit and read and not be bothered too much. My whole purpose for going to Hawaii was to relax and catch up on my reading without having to worry about anyone else's needs. Mission accomplished!

Don't forget your sunscreen, pack a lunch and stay for a while. Great place to hang out especially during sunset hours. Here, you'll never know who you will run into. Some days, maybe those guys from "Hawaii Five 0" or someone else famous. People watch, this is the place to be.
