Review aimed for parents with toddlers - Went to Waikiki and it was busy, rough and unsafe for a crawling toddler (15months) Drove the 5mins from our hotel in Waikiki and felt so much more at ease! Safe, no waves, clean and surrounded by local families. The parking signs say the park closes at 4pm but it doesn't, it's open... More

Even though just divided by the marina from Waikiki Beach, the Ala Moana Beach Park is something pretty different. It is mainly visited by locals, mostly families, some spending here the day, BBQ, etc. The beach is pretty similar to Waikiki, but the sunset is not so nice as the background includes some buildings. The good point is that you... More

Awesome ocean view, enjoy the ocean breeze, sunny days and sunsets. We loved it here. It was a great way to avoid the large groups of tourists in Waikiki

My mother and I was able to enjoy the refreshing sea breeze, not to mention the beautiful sun set. It was January of this year and the nights can be cold so suggest to bring some light jackets to ward of the windy afternoons.

All the beaches in Hawaii are beautiful! This was our second visit to Oahu and I loved it both times.

We learned about the Ala Moana Beach Park from a person at the pool. This beach is as nice or nicer than Waikiki and we had a great time.

Ala Moana park is a gathering lace for locals to swim and play sports. A lot of homeless people hang around the area. However at night they are required to vacate the area but I would not walk through the park at night. We have taken surfing lessons in the area and it has good surf for beginners. Locals fish... We were looking for a beach that was easy to get to after we hiked Diamond Head, and this one fit the bill. There are hardly any waves, and the sand beach is full of small rocks. My kids (6 and 10) enjoyed splashing around in the water and laying in the sand. But it's not a very pretty beach,... More
