Al is a great teacher. Very patient and good with all age groups. There were several texts and calls from Al to make sure that the date and time of the lessons were correct. Al moved.our lesson back a day to avoid a local holiday that would have made for.crowded waves.

Al and Mooch offered a great lesson at a local surf break, near to Waikiki, but away from the crowds and other lessons. I appreciated that it was not too "touristy" and definitely had some local flavor. Al was great about staying in contact regarding the weather and surf conditions and rescheduling our lessons to accommodate these factors. As a... More

We booked surf lessons for 3 of us last minute and Albert was more than accommodating and came and picked us up in a van. He was friendly and knowledgeable and took us to a more secluded area away from Waikiki beach. All three of us were able to stand and catch our own waves which was fantastic. He was... More

Al & Rob were great. They got our 5 yo boys getting up and excited about surfing. They also gave "dry land" lessons to our daughter (1 part of the triplets) because she didn't want to go and surf. That was until she met Al & Rob and saw her dad and brothers getting up and having fun. Too bad... More

My brother and I both took a semi private session. He was nervous that because the price was lower than other others around, that the quality wouldn't be as good, Man was he wrong. We both were standing up riding the waves within no time. There were two instructors Ryan and Mooch, the photographer (forgot his name), and Al, all... More

The one and only thing my 12 year old wanted to do when she got to Honolulu was go surfing. So, I researched the different surf schools. Most were rather expensive. I came across Alysha Surf School and knew that they were the ones I was choosing. When I talked to Al, he gave me an awesome price that beat... More

Albert met us at our hotel with his cute assistant. We followed him to the local surf spot, where he supplied the boards, reef shoes and rash guard. We provide our own sunscreen, swim suits and water. After a lesson in water safety and the basics of beginning surfing, we went out into the water and started surfing. My wife,... More

Excellent day on the water. We had a one on one lesson, both gentlman where very informative. My wife and i both had a great experience and even managed to stand up on a few. With out the knowledge and experience of our instructors we would never have enjoyed it as much as we did. My wife and i highly... More

My friend and I booked a lesson with Alysha Surf School after reading all the excellent reviews on Trip Advisor. We were not dissappointed. Albert picked us up at our hotel early in the morning and took us to a quiet area of Waikiki beach. After a thorough land lesson, he took us in the water and both my friend... More

Al of Alysha's Surf School is the most amazing teacher. I am not athletic at all and neither is my friend. We are both in our 50s and just wanted to be adventurous and give surfing a try. Al's instruction was so clear and his confidence in our ability to stand up and ride was infectious. Before we knew it... More
