A must do if you are ready for a challenge. Go early, bring water, and take your time, or go for a record. I have climbed it twice my best time is 32 min going up, 12 minutes going down. The view from the top makes it worth the climb. It’s not easy and a little dangerous but it worth... More

I know it's hot! You have no where to hide! It's a long straight line you need to clime up, but if you just get to the top, the view is epic. You won't regret that you did it! One thing that I want to point out loud & clear is that every year, there become less and less people... More

Go early - shortly after sunrise. Bring water and sunscreen...and your camera. Gorgeous views of Waikiki!

Being an old tramway to the top made me think it would be an easy graded walk but the ground between the wooden sleepers has been worn away so every step is quite a large step up of uneven amounts and coming down was even harder and could be a nasty fall. Lack of shade and in the Lee of... More

This was an awesome hike. Very long very steep. Not for anyone not decent shape. It has some dangerous parts. I loved it but my wife said she could have skipped it. We both agreed the view was great from even halfway up. Go about 5 pm when it's cooler and bring water and sneakers

Holy Moly thiis will make your thighs burn. Wear trainers and take water. If you are taking a bag I would suggest a small, lightweight back pack. I had a cross-body bag and it was getting in the way. Will definitely do this hike next time I visit. Note: If you don't want to walk over the bridge there is... More

I went with a group of 8 friends to do this climb, all with varying degrees of fitness. Quickest one was up in the just under 30 mins, and the last one up (who was asthmatic) took 55 minutes. The "bridge" part is not that scary, and there are normally plenty of people around to help you if you are... More

Climbing to the top of Koko Head Crater was exhausting! I have pretty short legs and having to take giant steps up the old railway track really killed me but it was so worth it when I got up to the top, saw the view, caught my breath and could look down at what I had accomplished! You can see... More

I am over 300lbs and completed this hike last week with my husband and family members, it took me just over an hour. I planned to do it over a month ago, so put some training in - i suggest to anyone thinking of doing the hike that this would be good to do. Above all though, believe you can... More

The view from the crater is quite spectacular. Don't go later in the day as the mist and wind gets up and it can get very cold.
