Great little hike, just under a mile each way, with a rewarding 360 degree view at the top. The "stairs" are an old track system, which is pretty vertical much of the way, so it definitely gets the lungs going. You can take it as fast or slow as you like (we did it at a steady pace without stops... More

Around a 1000 old railway sleepers to the top. At times almost vertical and at one point crossing a shallow ravine with no hand rails and people you passing going up and down. (There is a chicken run to the side if you see it in time.) When you get there park on the left at the top by the... More

We caught the bus from Waikiki. Missed the stop we had to get off at. Walked an extra 20 minutes just to get to the start of the trail. We started off with another couple who we realised weren't carrying any water. A while up we realised they must have turned back. Word of caution... BRING WATER. The bridge was... More

This is an old railroad track up the hill that has been turned into a 1000+ stair climb. After the first few hundred fast steps you'll be breathing heavy, but you are probably thinking, this is no problem, maybe I'll do it a couple of times. . . At 300 you'll notice a change and you may start to realize... More

Not for small kids. Crowded parking. Steep hike on an unmaintained trail consisting of uneven old rail ties. But the view at the top was amazing. Made all the other stuff irrelevant. Will be taking my father back here.

I should have brought more water with me. One bottle was not enough. Take your when you get to the top and enjoy the views and breezes.

Took the bus from Waikiki which was about an hour and got dropped off across the road from the trail. Just follow all the people to the trail head and enjoy the challenge ahead. This was a good effort to get to the top and you will be tired with "jello" legs for the journey down. Rest often to catch... More

Upon first glance this trail seems like a piece of cake; its a straight line with a bunch of stairs. Well it's not so easy. Ever climb 1048 steps of varying height and length while ascending 1200ft? Not so simple. And the worst part of the hike (if you have a fear of heights) is the bridge in the middle!... More

My kids hiked Koko Head and it was very difficult but extremely rewarding? The views were worth the hike .
