We stayed at the Outrigger Luana and our room overlooked this park. In fact, I choose this hotel because of the green space around it. A nice buffer from all the Waikiki chaos. We walked through the park one morning to enjoy the beautiful landscaping and quiet. So lovely. The park opens onto a very wide beach with both the... More

You could not ask for anything more beautiful. The grounds are well manicured. Close to the beach. Safe and inviting. Close proximity to the free army museum. Simply the best.

We stayed at a relative's apartment in Honolulu and could walk to Waikiki Beach, but drove to Fort DeRussy (only about 1-2 miles). Parking is at a premium, but it's very worthwhile making the trek to Fort DeRussy. The beach is much less crowded than farther north. There are beach chairs, umbrellas to rent, as well as activities, like ocean... More

Quiet park located on either side of the Hale Koa Hotel, where active duty military, retired military, and DoD civilians stay. Armed MPs and busy groundskeepers make it feel safe and comfortable, a consideration these days.

I was disappointed. I use to love this beach and visited weekly - maybe it was just because it reachable by bus? It's rundown, the bathhouse dirty, many homeless in the park. Now - I'd rent a car and get away from Waikiki.

A very nice place to just sit back, unwind, picnic, have a Longboard, or meditate. Liked the people watching, and jogging or walking trails.

OMGosh can you say the "Nicest" beach. It is a part of the military part of the beach Hubby a Marine. People are soooo nice and everyone is having a bunch of fun. Obviously it is Honolulu, but still has the best places to eat on the beach and the people having parties are always inviting, and grills galore. Love... More

Great spot if you want a grassy area on the beach. Huge area and great if you have a dog. Check out the Fort Randolph Army museum if you get the chance....it is free and really interesting, even if you are not a fan of combat and military stuff.

Waikiki Park for everyone! The military did a great job of providing something for Hawaiians. Tennis, beach, showers, etc. are all world class

This beach was easy access from our Embassy Suites. However, there was not much surface area sand to lay out. You need aqua socks to go into the water since there are many rocks.
