My wife found a shared charter so that I could go out sport fishing while we were on Oahu. Three other people and the captain (Mathews) and mate (Chip) were on the boat. They... read more

I have tried many charter boats in Kona, over the past 25 yrs. The crew that has always treid their hardest for fish, been professional, and very friendly to my friends, and especially my dauighter Allya, is the Maggie Joe. On this boat you are treated like family (the good parts :)). They have snacks, listen to my daughters jokes, and... More

Pros: Capt and mate very knowledgeable. Boat and gear in great shape. Lots of life in the water and we had great weather and caught a nice spearfish Cons: the way most charters on Hawaii are set up, the paying customers do not own any big fish >100 lbs and only half of the small fish, this gives the crew... My wife found a shared charter so that I could go out sport fishing while we were on Oahu. Three other people and the captain (Mathews) and mate (Chip) were on the boat. They were outstanding and highly professional and knew their stuff! I caught the mahi mahi in the morning and then nothing for hours. The crew made sure... More

We are in Hawaii for our first family trip and booked a half day fishing trip with this company for my husband and son several weeks in advance. Less than 24 hours before the departure, they sent us a email and text saying they didn't have enough people to fill the half day trip. But ironically they had enough people... More

My cousin and I took a full day trip with the Maggie Joe, specifically on the Sea Hawk. Captain Darryl and Dallas were awesome! We caught Mahi Mahi and Ono. They even gave some to us and it was delicious! I would go again.

Full day charter on the Maggie Joe yesterday. It's a 53 foot beauty with all the amenities and you'll appreciate the larger size vessel if the water starts to get a little rough. Started catching fish as soon as we hit the deeper water. The crew knows their stuff and worked endlessly. I have been on at least 30 of... More

My girlfriend and I went on a full day private fishing trip on the Maggie Joe, the 53 foot custom fishing boat! It was spectacular. I've been fishing many many times in other countries and this by far was the best equipped and nicest boat there is out there. The seas were a little on the rough side, I wasn't... More

This trip was our first one ever to Hawaii and chose Maggie Joe's (specifically their Sea Hawk) from a friends' trip with them before. The company was very accommodating when most guests for all boats were late (and arrived very, very stressed) owing to early AM Half-Marathon downtown road blocks. Kudos to our boat for going out 2 clients short... More

What a great day of fishing. The day started slow but the captain and crew worked super hard to get us to where the fish were. By the end of the day everyone on the boat had brought in several large fish. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a great day of fishing.

Captain Matt and Skipper Chip did their very best to target fish for us but sadly we were not lucky. One lady did catch a really nice tuna but alas that was all we caught all afternoon. The captain did his best to target big fish but they were just not biting. That is purely and simply the sport of... More
