This is not a Disney-like mega aquarium. It is a working outreach tool of the University and it is a fine way to spend a couple hours. A great reference before you go snorkeling! There is limited free parking in front which is a nice touch in a city of "pay me pay me parking." I found the staff eager... More

This was a short walk along the beach from our hotel. (One of the benefits of Waikiki is you can actually walk anywhere.) They give you an audio device but no earphones. It had plugs so I put my iPhone buds in and it worked great! There were school groups there and some of them saw Dory and Nemo! (Real... More

The aquarium was under construction and it seemed to be very small. The exhibits had a lot of the sea life crammed into small areas.

We heard a lot of hype about how great this aquarium was, but our visit was a let-down. There were very few exhibits outdoors and the staff were not as friendly as we found most folks in Waikiki. We had free passes so we didn't waste any money. I would not pay the $12 to see this attraction.

I did the aquarium at the last day of my stay It's not a big aquarium but good enough especially after your day at the beach The show with the seal was cherry on the cake

A small aquarium - can be crowded, but there's much to see: sharks, jellyfish, and my favorite - the Frogfish! (Bottom-dweller that walks on its fins.) Larger tanks hold giant clams and coral. You can watch a seal show outside - and maybe touch a sea urchin!

We have been to Chicago's Shed Aquarium as well as other aquariums but this place really packs a punch in a smaller area. This is an absolute must if you are visiting Waikiki. It's right off the beach and a short walk. To think we almost didn't go, this was one of our top highlights of our trip to Oahu.... More

My daughter had given me a diving mask and snorkel and encouraged me to check out the fish off the shore. Instead of doing something I don't normally do at home, I decided to visit the creatures at the Waikiki Aquarium. It is is a nicely appointed aquarium and well worth the 1-hour visit.

I liked how most of the exhibits were indoors, a reprieve from the Hawaiian heat. Some interesting and unusual creatures. It only takes and hour or so to go through but I enjoy seeing the sea life of the local area. Some may find the size disappointing but I thought it was OK. Sorry, but I'm comparing this to Sydney...
