The Hilo Hattie brand seems to infiltrate your sub-conscious in Honolulu so I couldn't help but find out what all the fuss was about. Nothing, of course - it is a cute shop, and very Hawaiian, but not the ultimate Hawaiian shopping experience I was promised. The free bus didn't stop at the scheduled times so we had to make... more

...although the free trolley ride is kind of fun, the driver gives a running commentary on various sites and they will drop you off at the Ala Moana Mall. Be advised you will have to take the bus back to your original destination, the trolley will not pick you up from the mall. Hilo Hattie's has a bunch of crap... more

I have been to Hawaii every year, since 1978, and lived on the Kaneohe Marine base. I love Hilo Hattie's and enjoy everything that's in their stores, across the other islands as well. Anyone who doesn't like these stores need their heads examined. They have recently been acquired by Royal Hawaiina Creations, which is another island apparel company. Good luck... more

Hilo Hattie's was a nice tourist trap to visit, the trolly driver was fantastic!! Of course they're overpriced, but the ride is free, the shell leis are free and for me they were my souvenir. I love the ABC store, and the International Market place although I didn't make it out to the Stadium, which I hear is FANTASTIC!! So,... more

We got tired of walking and didn't want to pay for tickets for the Waikiki Trolley. The Hilo Hattie trolley passes us by on the street and on the huge green sign in front, it said the trolley was free. We grabbed one of those tourist maps and looked for the HH's trolley stop points. Our trolley driver was super... more

Hilo Hattie's has a free shuttle that will take tourists (and their wallets) to their largest store. The driver of the shuttle also served as a tour guide and she pointed out several things, which we found to be very helpful. When we arrived, we were greeted with shell leais, free beverages, and some photo opportunities. We shopped for Hawaiian... more

I seldom write a bad review. I just don't go back. But Hattie's has always been a treat on out many visits to Hawaii. The first sign was the poor stock and condition of the Lahaina, Maui store. On a side trip to Honolulu, we visited the Honolulu store on the 72/Pacific site that caters to the cruise ships. We... more

This place bills itself has having a low-price guarantee but don't believe it. It is the same trinkets found elsewhere on the island, but hardly any were cheaper than other places. It is kind of fun to walk around, but don't expect the deals they claim. more

We went to the big factory store. Being the "touristy" types, we had a great time looking thru the Aloha shirts, floral dresses, souveniers and Hawaiian foods. The store was full of goodies. We spent almost 1 1/2 hours there. The store runs a shuttle from many Honolulu locations - check their site for a schedule. If you have a... more

I remember my first trip to Hilo Hatties back in the 1980’s. There were racks and racks of Hawaiian shirts with workers hard at work making more. Going to Hilo Hatties used to be a must-do with any trip to Honolulu. This time, I was surprised to find their seamstresses were all gone. There was no longer a manufacturing tour... more
