I found Hilo Hattie tucked away in the Ala Moana Shopping Centre beside Barnes & Noble. I went there especially for my mum, because she requested a muumuu and while I was there I bought my brother a Hawaiian shirt. Thankfully, the sales persons were able to FedEx the gifts home, because I was headed elsewhere and didn't need the... More

used to be able to count on HH for some decent candy and a moderately priced Aloha shirt, this store has gone down hill since I was here last. Minimal selection of Aloha wear, less varieties of candy. This store now focuses on the jewelry hard sell so many describe here. Service was painfully slow when I did buy some candy and... More

You can't visit Hawaii without a tour of one of several Hilo Hattie's stores. Not as reasonable as in the past, but many items are actually made in Hawaii such as clothing. Her free shuttle buses are helpful for those that do not rent transportation. The Honlulu branch has a snack bar and is close to Costco.

We frequent this establishment every time we are in Honolulu, and make a regular purchase of some items to bring back home as gifts.. Unfortunately this time around we were very disappointed. Their pricing has increased and quality of service has declined. Avoid this establishment when the cruise ships are in town, as the shuttle service becomes highly unreliable, with... More

Maybe it's just me, but i like to collect trinkets and original items from the places i go instead of your typical shop designed to sell the same product to the masses. That said, if you REALLY want that t-shirt that says "aloha" on it, or maybe you want to bring back a generic souvenir for that one annoying relative... More

While in Honolulu, we visited Hilo Hattie's. I had visited Hilo Hattie's on Maui some years ago, and found it and enchanting. However, this time I purchased a block of quilting squares which was supposed to be 88 squares. On arrival home, I found the pack was short 12 squares. I emailed hilo Hattie's, and their response, even though it... More

I took the free van (tip expected) to the original Hilo Hattie's. They have lots of Hawaiian souvenirs. The van driver said 80% are made in Hawaii. They have a large assortment of items but they are a bit pricey.

We also had free Dole whips once we got there. It's a good place to get gifts to bring back to the mainland. It's also neat to see the cultural programs they put on. Definitely worth the trip with a family.

I'm not sure about the reviews that talked about going to the factory, but I've been in the retail stores in Honolulu and Maui. It's touristy, but hey, if I go to Hawaii im a tourist. The thing I like best is that they have clothing in all price ranges depending on your budget. 20 to 30 dollars will buy... More
