Has changed over the years but still a fun place to stop.

They have changed over they years. They used to give lots of samples and had lot of brands of candies and coffees and cookies, etc. and now seem to carry mostly their own brand... read more

They have changed over they years. They used to give lots of samples and had lot of brands of candies and coffees and cookies, etc. and now seem to carry mostly their own brand. It is still an interesting place to go. They do make it plain they are not a free shuttle to the malls, but make stops on... More

They closed the big Hilo Hattie's store on Nimitz and moved into a very small store in the mall. Now they are just like all the other stores selling Hawaiian souvenirs. I was very disappointed. Their prices have gone up and you need to check what you want to buy due to the cheap Aloha shirts they have. They have... More

Hilo Hattie's was an iconic stop on our day trip whilst on a cruise. Free shuttle makes it an added attraction. However, was disappointing as nothing special and if it seems that the business is going down, so not as expected and prices not particularly worth it all.

Hilo Hattie's has filed for bankruptcy protection and is having a clearance sale of all merchandise including fixtures, furniture and restaurant equipment - only cash sales!! I think sale is from 1021 throgh 10/28.

We were greeted at the cruise terminal by one of the family members who directed us to the free shuttle to their main store and was informed of the regular circuit through Waikiki Beach where we needed to visit to set up our resort arrangements. The store prides itself in selling Hawaiian produced products, possibly a bit higher cost than... More

We visited in 2005 and they had a great range and great value. This visit in 2015 we got the free shuttle. I think that was the best part of the trip the driver was great. When we arrived at the store welcomed and offered a drink only problem was there were no cups and when we asked the staff... More

We have often wondered why they would locate this store outside of Waikiki ... It is literally on an island in the middle of the Nimitz. There is a free shuttle to the Nimitz store from locations in Waikiki that runs until 7PM. At one time Hilo Hattie was a giant in the souvenir business, especially their matching Aloha wear....... The brochure advertised a "cultural experience" on the shuttle ride which was absolutely false. It was simply a bus ride to the huge retail outlet that was also a disappointment. We bought a few gifts to take home but found just as plentiful and less expensive souvenirs along the Waikiki Beach walk.

We were not in Honolulu on days when the swap meet was taking place and some review I read of Honolulu said this place had similar prices. I thought it was kind of a tourist trap type store--the type of store that if you went on a bus tour they would bring you to. We found the prices rather high.... More

We visited Hilo Hattie's shop by taking the free shuttle bus from Waikiki beach. It was nice ride with great explanations from the driver. The welcome drink and free souvenir were nice and tasty. The shop is full with Hawaiian staff and prices are reasonable. The ride back to center was nice too.
