We shopped the Ala Moana Center mid way through our trip. It is huge. About 220 stores and 70 restaurants. Anything you want you can find it here. From ABC stores and food court restaurants to Fendi and higher priced restaurants. It is not far from Waikiki Beach and accessible by the Bus. In some of the higer end stores... more

We didn't come to Hawaii to shop, but found the food court to be a great surprise for a good meal. We returned the next night. It covers over an acre of space and offers 20+ food outlets. And of course, the food court prices were better than the high-priced restaurants that blanket Honolulu. Yes, some of it is fast... more

We did shop a bit at the Nordstrom Sale, Alas, my husband's shopping patience was limited, So after maybe a total hour we then went up to the Mai Tai Bar. Background music was nice - and husband had $3 beer..other drinks $4 I think. They also had several food items in decent portions for $5. Fried calamari and chicken... more

Ala Moana Shopping Center has been in it's location for a very long time. As a kid, I often go there to shop.. until now whenever I visit Honolulu, I always go to Ala Moana. I can go to Ala Moana everyday and not get tired of it. Everyday seems to have something new. And since the shopping center is... more

If you rent a car in Honolulu and go shopping, do not put your belongings in the trunk or leave at all in the car. We put our beach bags (inlcuding GPS) in trunk of rental and were robbed within minutes. According to security and police, it happens 1-7 time a day! They did no damage to car and have... more

The Ala Moana shopping center is supposed to be one of the largest shopping centers in the world. Having said that, I didn't find it particularly exciting. There are no attratcions like a waterpark, skating rink, movie theatres, or hotel in the shopping center as there is in Canada's West Edmonton Mall found in Edmonton, Alberta. There are a lot... more

Ala Moana Center is located not a few miles away from Waikiki. Here you can see many shops, from Gucci to Prada to Abercrombie and Fitch to ABC Stores! It doesn't matter if you're here just to browse shops or go on a huge splurging shopping spree, there are many places to shop. It's also great for people-watching; I've seen... more

I've been to this mall before but since it was somewhat near our hotel, we decided to stop by. There was a huge food court. Lots of brand name stores and regular stores as well. It was nice to be in an outdoor mall. more

The shopping mall has changed a lot in 10 years. It used to be a linear 2-floor 1970s feel to the entire place but that's changed. Changed so much you'll be hard pressed to even recognize it from inside. The third floor was built up with a lot more restaurants to offers, and now the new Nordstrom extension has been... more

I didn't have much interest at the Ala Moana center at the beginning. First of all, I can find a lot of the shops there in my area. Secondly, I don't have the money to spend on the high end stuff, so I better off not getting myself tempted. Unfortunately, I overslept on my last day in Hawaii and couldn't... more
