There are no roads up to the rim of Diamond Head. The only way up is by a rather steep walking trail. Not a good choice for those out of shape or with medical conditions.

This is a great trail to hike. Although, it has very uneven ground and lots of stairs. The view is great.

The views at the top of Diamond Head are amazing. The hike isn't the hardest, but I'd make sure to wear good shoes and be in decent shape. It could be a challenge for someone that has trouble with hard walking. What an amazing view once you're there.

My wife and I arrived at 7:10 AM and by the time we started going up, the large tour groups were already on the way down and almost out. There were not too many people going up aside from early joggers and we did not have to battle any tour groups going up. The sun had also just risen over... More

Set your alarm clock early, so you can be there at 6am when the park opens up. You miss the crowds and have the space to yourself to watch waikiki wake up! The views are spectacular.

This is definitely a must to do while vacationing in Oahu! Somewhat of a challenging hike, but you are rewarded with an incredible view at the top!

I knew little about this attraction before we went. Glad that we did go. But definitely more for those who enjoy hiking up a crater at least one mile. Learned the history of its name and was amazed by how BIG it is. Got great pictures. Glad I went.

This is the second time that we have done Diamond Head and it is so worth the climb. Bring cash for a shaved ice at the bottom as a reward. We took the bus the first time we visited and it was fine. However, the bus drops you outside of the volcano crater and you walk up a hill, through... More
