Went early so not too hot but still fairly busy. A great feeling when you get to the top and brilliant views! Got The Bus from waikiki then only $1 admission as a walk in. After the big brekkies we were having this bit of exercise made me feel good :-). Some low dark tunnels on the way up and... More

It's a long hike uphill. Need to wear good shoes as very uneven walkway most of the way. Also, take lots of water. Gorgeous view at the top.

Beautiful view once you make it to the top. Very crowded though. Do yourself a favor and book a tour with Oahu Nature Tours to see this as they can park closer. Bring plenty of water to drink and good walking shoes.

Diamond Head is a massive crater, located south west of Oahu. It's presence is quite unique when compared to the man-made cityscape of Honolulu and Waikiki. It reminds you that while you wander the cocktail bars and peruse the goods in the many, many designer boutiques on the main strip, that in fact, Honolulu and the island of Oahu is... More

My wife and I hiked up to the top of Diamond Head. It was a great hike. The view at the top was incredible. Make sure to get there early because it gets busy.

Even if your not a hiker or aren't in the best health, this is still a hike you can do! It takes about 30-40 mins each way and the view from the top is truly worth it. We booked this through a tour company (Kanama Tours) and left for the first hole of the morning, which is the best option... More

The hike up the Diamond Head trail is for the fit and sure of foot. Sandals and flats are totally inappropriate and potentially dangerous. Go early in the morning or you will feel like you're in an ant farm with hundreds of people walking up and down the switchbacks. Stunning views at the top!

yes, the hike can be tough for those who are out of shape. But man, once you get to the top, it's soooo worth it. Try going early or late. Take a cab or uber if you at a hotel on Waikiki as the parking lot fills quickly. The most beautiful views I have seen!

The diamond crater is just a short bus ride away from Waikiki. It is a relatively easy hike and the summit offers a nice view on Waikiki, the crater and the hinterland. Leave early to avoid the heat. On Saturdays there is a nice market next to the crater with organic food and beverages.
