This is something you "Must Do" while visiting Honolulu, but it's very heavily touristed and it's getting touristy as well. It's a very easy hike (more of a walk than a hike) so it's always full of families with children and older tourists. Nothing wrong with that - just don't expect a "hike"! Wear sunscreen as there's little to no... More

The hike up was a little steep but was easily doable! I would not recommend the hike for people that can not do about a half mile with a climb. The views were amazing and you could see a large portion of the eastern side of Ohau.

Walking up Diamond Head was a good way to spend a part of our Saturday? I recommend the following: A level of fitness is helpful or be prepared to take a number of stops on the way up. We watched a rescue by the Honolulu Fire Department because an older man, who was clearly not fit, made the trek up... More

This hike is steep, but short. It is well worth the time because the views from the top are magnificent. Bring water and camera! Enjoy shave ice at the end from food truck near the parking lot.

The view from the top is well worth the climb, which can be strenuous along the way. Lots of steps, tunnels and a circular stairway to the top. A little bit of a climb out of the pillbox, but you can also take the easy side steps up (usually used for coming down). The entrance has been re-done in the last... More

Hiked to the top with my 15, 8 and 6 year olds. Beautiful view of Honolulu and Waikiki, especially. Crowded but not terrible. Parking- had to wait for a spot to open up but it did pretty quickly so don't get disheartened. A little too much for my six year old but he did it. Bring water and good shoes.... More

The trek up to the lookout is a decent walk. The track is rocky in some parts but with average fitness you will reach the lookout.

Was a little hesitant to do the hike but didn't want to leave disappointed, so we headed up at 6am. There were a few people about but no one held us up. I did struggle towards the end on the steep stairs, but there are plenty of places to rest and the view up the top is well worth it.... More

The beginning of "Diamond Head, Trail". located on Oahu, HI is easily accessible! It is about as ten minute drive, and a few minutes from Waikiki. There is a $5.00 parking fee to use the parking lot at this trailhead. There is also a small convenience stand, where you may purchase drinks, etc. However; I think it is greatly over... More
