Fun hike! It looked a bit intimidating, but really not that bad! the trail is pretty clear and you go through a dark tunnel and up a ton of stairs, but the view from the top is amazing! Plus you see another lighthouse! View of Waikiki is good too!

The trail can be quite busy but when you reach the top you will understand why this hike is so popular. The view is amazing and breathtaking. Even on a cloudy day you can see for miles! Viewing the Diamond Head Lighthouse from above was my favorite part of this little adventure. Definitely would recommend tennis shoes or closed toe... More

I highly recommend heading to Diamond head before sunrise to see it from the top of the mountain. The park opens at 6:00AM and is a relatively easy hike. The view from the top includes Waikiki beach, the valleys nearby and beautiful beaches wiith a lighthouse.

Unfortunately we were unable to get up to the observation lookout on the top of Diamond head as we arrived here after 4:30pm (the lookout closes at 6pm but they do not allow people to enter after 4:30pm). However, Diamond Head remains a beautiful landmark on Waikiki Beach.

The views at the top of Diamond Head were breathtaking. It is a steep, hot climb. Be sure and wear good shoes and take water. Don't forget your camera!

My husband and I enjoyed this despite it being incredibly hot and humid the afternoon we hiked up the crater. Bring lots of water and a snack. The view from the top is amazing. The walk isn't too difficult but I wouldn't recommend bringing a stroller - we saw a few people struggling.

A strenuous enough walk - it's humid so take something to drink. But you are rewarded with views over the bay. Worth the effort.

Not a great hike. Many stairs, too many unprepared people (don't go with flip-flops, come on!), and hot as hell. Probably better if done very early morning. Views are good. There is a little booth selling some hot-dogs and shave ice at the entrance of the trail, and toilets are available.

We walked to The Diamond Head Crater from Waikiki beach and then up the Crater. It was a great walk which I suggest people do in the morning as it does get hot and quite busy. Taxi's are available in the car park at the bottom if you've had enough and prefer not to walk home.

The hike up to the rim of the Diamond Head Crater is not a difficult walk, but it is strenuous. Unless you're in great shape, you will be breathing hard, especially after the two long sections of stairs at the top. The view from the top of the crater will make you forget how tired and sore you are. The... More
