Diamond Head is a wonderful climb. It is JUST easy enough that almost anyone can climb it if you just take it slowly. I am 61 years old and approached the climb as one who was going to just go a little way then turn around. BUT... I kept getting motivated to go a little further as it seemed there... More

didnt stay too long, wanted to do the climb, the crater is flat so ideal for all walks of life, strange feeling going through crater wall a suntrap inside awaits so be prepared, took the green tour bus which goes right in to the crater, very informative tour bus, local and easy to get on and off

The place it self does not have much to offer, except a challenge to rich the top. Once you are there pay everything back and more. With an amazing views.

There is some level of fitness required to climb to the top. Most discuss the steps that you have to climb; but, it is not until you get to the stair themselves (which are closer to the top) that you start to feel the heat and run out of energy (if you are not in shape). After the first dark... More

I really enjoy going up Diamond Head. I went up twice on my first trip to Honolulu in 2007 and twice this time in 2014. The only thing I have difficulty with is the crowds. If you are not in shape, this could be a bit challenging however you don't have to go up all the way. The views are... More

To be standing at the top of the Diamond Head was an amazing experience. We made it to the top and then back down in 50 minutes, but we moved quickly up and back. There were kids walking up and older adults, you could also stop and take rests at various spots along the way. I would do this again.... More

I recently had a trip from New York to Honolulu, Hawaii and unfortunately had a disappointing customer service of transportation between the airport and the hotel in Honolulu. Expedia has been giving me a great deal trips and I had had wonderful vacations with Expedia so I am willing to travel with Expedia in the future too. However, I would... More

Been here several times with family and what a great hike. Did this after a big meal & you feel great, having burned off the calories, once you reach the top. Very beautiful path & even better view of Honolulu at the mountaintop. You will get good exercise but will find hikers who want to speed ahead, when you're on... More

We hiked up to the top. My daughter who is in decent shape ended up getting sick about 1/2 way up. Not sure if she was trying to go too fast or what, but make sure you take breaks and drink plenty of water. We did finally make it to the top and the view is worth it!
