Diamond head is a great walk with a great view at the end. An amazing view of the picture perfect Waikiki is your reward. It is something everyone who heads to Oahu should do.

It's a 1 hour trek to go up, and about 30 minutes coming back. You get the best view of Oahu from the top. Worth every minute of it.

Parking can be an issue - we arrived, left and came back later in the day. Closes at 6PM so 4PM is pretty good timing to get up/down in good time. Its an easy walk from the main beach area but does add a load more time on your walk. You see people climbing it in flip-flops/thongs but recommend something... More

Walked to top of Diamond Head from Sheraton. Fantastic experience. Also, being a runner, great to run around it. Plenty of morning runners.

After pearl harbour, diamond head should be your next destination as the views are stunning. Remember to stretch before going up!

Views at the top are well worth the 30 minute hike up. The trail is rough, rocky and uneven; wear comfortable walking shoes. The trail can be crowded since it is the same way going up and down. We went early, around 8am. It's not too hot but need to bring water to stay hydrated. Car parking is available but... More

There is US$5 parking fees per car or US$1 per person. The hike takes about 30minutes to the top. It's worth every steps. There is view of Waikiki is amazing.

The 30 minute hike up to the rim of the crater is not difficult and is well taken care of also. The military bunkers and the underground walkways and tunnels make you realize the protective value of Diamond Head.

Our friends joined us for a trip to Hawaii and a hike up Diamond head in Sept 2014. We stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village and took the public bus to Diamond Head. It's about a 20 min ride and inexpensive. You have to walk up a steep hill from the bus stop to start the hike up Diamond head... More

Diamond Head is very touristy, if you are looking to get a workout this isn't the place as many people are on the trail and you can't go around them at times. The trail is paved so it's an easy hike towards the top there are a lot of steps but there is an alternate route you can take. The... More
