You can go by bus to this place. Prepare your stamina, as u will walk, a bit hiking to the top. Took around 40 minutes, depend on your speed of course. Maybe better to go in the morning, to prevent too hot sun. It opens from 6 am to 6 pm. The best thing is, get pictures when u arrive... More

If you are driving get there early. We arrived at 7:30 am. Avoided the heat, avoided the crowds and saw the line of cars waiting for our spot when we were done at 9 am. It is a tough walk, but anyone can do it. Just take your time, take some breaks, and take two bottles of water.

I was a little concerned about how difficult this hike might be (I'm a 57 year old female ... not particularly in shape and about 25 pounds overweight). However, it was very doable. We went early (6:30 am) to avoid the hottest part of the day (and some crowds ... although it was still busy). However, we were early enough... More

Considering almost everyone stays in Waikiki when visiting Honolulu, a visit to this state park gives a great view of all of southern Oahu. From the peak you can see hanama bay and Koko Head to the east, waikiki, honolulu, and pearl harbor to the west, and the mountains and ocean to the north and south respectively. It is a... More

I loved hiking this trail. Its fairly easy but I would definitely recommend bringing water and maybe even snacks because the humidity/heat can really get to you. We got there pretty late and it was extremely busy so I would recommend going as early as possible as you will have to park a ways away and will have to walk... More

Hike is long, but can be done at your own pace. Saw lots of families with small children going up the crater. Beautiful area with a great view of the coastline. Saw a light house below, which we drove by to see later.

Diamond head is a must when in Honolulu. The views at the top are just great, lots of great photo opportunities and the walk is a breeze. We are fit but no athletes and this was an easy easy walk. Get a cab from Honolulu and one from Diamond head as its an easier and quicker option rather than the... More

If you want a truly incredible view of Waikiki, you have to climb to the top of Diamond Head Crater. Expect the trip to take an hour and a half if you're taking a leisurely pace, but don't worry-- it's not a very difficult journey. Most, if not all of the path up to the top is paved and has... More

Please do experience the hike up Diamond Head crater. Enjoy 360degree views from the top featuring Koko Head, Downtown Waikiki, inland mountains and neighborhoods, the crater, and the spectacular Pacific revealing itself in various shades of blue. You will need water, sneakers for the uneven terrain, a hat, light clothing, and endurance because there are steep staircases involved. Allow 2... More
