When staying in Waikiki I tried to walk up to the top every spare day before lunch and to get exercise kick. It's a bit of a hike but once you take the trails to the top the views are simply amazing. It's no rush to get down and not for the faint hearted but don't let that stop you!

this was a fun thing to do. but when they say the trail is uneven they mean it. also very narrow in spots. there are a few spots along the way where you can rest. even my parents were able to do this and they are almost 70. Very awesome views from the top of the crater.

Not real challenging hence so many folks doing it so can be a bit busy, I started from central Waikiki and enjoyed it, nice views at the top and good exercise but a bit busy, recommend it though.

Went with family of 5 up Diamond Head. Reason for my tiltle is that when your going up it appears to be okay for youngsters to run downhill or get in your lane as your going up. Where your somehow suppose to disappear. I had signaled one young lady to get over on her side because the only place i... More

Tough climb up the stairs, but worth it after you get to the top. Can be very crowded. Wonderful views at the top.

We caught the Waikiki Trolley green line to Diamond Head, which cost $20 round trip and stopped at several lookouts on the way for photo ops. We then arrived at Diamond Head and paid $1 each to enter the park on foot. The hike was great. While it was very busy, the track itself and the view back down was... More

Very Hot! Wear light clothes and slather on the sun screen, wear a hat and bring water. The hike up is a lot of work. Wear good shoes too. We seen people wearing sandals and were very glad we had socks and runners. The view from the top is worth the work to get up there. Go early to get... More

This was probably one of the best trails I have ever hiked it. I definitely would not classify it at easy, so be prepared to work. There are a lot of stairs at one point, which is a little off putting for a nature hike. Overall though, the view from the top is worth all the hard work to get... More

This short hike was beautiful and well worth it! Bring water and make sure to go early in the day in order to avoid large crowds of people. Have fun and enjoy a beautiful view of Oahu's gorgeous coastline.

Took a taxi from our hotel around 6:10 am. There are buses too, but we were pressed on time to catch a plane later that morning. Was a quick 3 mile ride, and the driver assured us there would be taxis waiting at the bottom of the parking lot when we were done, and there were. Was not a problem... More
