Wear your walking shoes and take some water and your time. The view from the top is incredible. It is quite a climb but most people can do it. TIP- When you get near the top you will encounter a steep set of stairs to your right, don't climb them unless you love to climb stairs. Turn left. That is... More

The climb to the top is reasonably strenuous if you choose to move at a good pace, but don't forget to stop to take in the magnificent views! Good shoes (we saw many people struggling in unsuitable foot wear) and water are a must. The vista from the top is just stunning!

I'm 51 and very out of shape, but I made it! It was very tiring, but the experience is worth it. It took us a little longer finding the entrance, so we had to catch sunrise at the view point on the way instead of the top, but it was still great!

My Advice: Start early before it gets too warm and crowded. Bring water and wear good shoes. The hike to diamond head was a lot of fun. We started @ about 9:30 a.m. The parking lot was already full so we had to wait about 15 mins. for a spot. We brought a water bottle and wore good shoes. The... More

My hubby and I visited on our 10th anniversary. Although we were both young and healthy, there were several people that we passed who were not as young/fit. You can climb the steps at your own pace. The views at the top are truly amazing!

We took a moderate pace and stopped for photos along the way up and back, took a total of about an hour and a half (can easily be done faster). It is definitely 100% worth it, the views from the top are amazing.

Even if you are handicapped! As long as you have arm strength! With a crutch in one hand and using the hand rail with the other, I managed to get up there in one hour and another hour down! This was definitely a challenge but I was determined to do it with my family behind me!

A must see! Be sure to wear comfortable shoes. There is a lot of walking & climbing stairs. You must be in good shape to do this hike. Make sure you have plenty of time to reach the top. Take plenty of water, no place to purchase water on the way up. Take lots of pictures. Not for small children... More

Moderate hike with views from the top that make it worth it. We made it up it about 30 minutes but that was after an hour walk from the Hilton. Amazing picture opportunities at the top...get a panoramic!

This is a fun walk/hike. I'd call it moderate. We went midday on a Saturday and had NO issue with crowds at all (go figure...) There were multiple stupid people breaking the rules, probably for FB pictures. Climbing on roof-tops, edges of cliffs and- I kid you not- "tight rope walking" on the overlook railing. I've seen this on multiple... More
