Ran up Diamond Head from Waikiki. Didn't need to stop and I thought it was pretty easy really but had just finished an ironman and could see how some might find it a trek. Plenty of other runners doing the same first thing. Definitely some robust trail type trainers or walking shoes required (not the high heels I saw some... More

A good hike, with excellent views, very near to Waikiki. Be prepared for some aggressive staircases.

The hike only takes about 30 minutes one way to the top from the visitor center. Parking is scarce, but the wait was only 5 minutes. Went late in morning on a hot day - trail is not too shady so bring a hat and water. Expect lots of steps towards the top unless you take a longer way up.... More

Fun hike up. Wear comfortable shoes. Trail is steep and rough in places. Take water, you will need it. Views at the top are breathtaking.

You will need to have water and good walking shoes, and there are long flights of stairs, tunnels and tight switchbacks going up. Take breaks as you need to. All worth it for that feeling of accomplishment, and the view and gentle breeze when you get to the top. I called The Bus Information, and they told me to take... More

We visited Diamond Head again this summer'14' and this time we hiked up the trail. I could go only as far as the tunnel as I was beginning to feel too closed in and would not make it up the stairs with my knee. I did climb 3/4 of the way. My husband went all the way and said it... More

Hiked the trail the third time in six years and the view from the top never disappoints. The trail is rough and uneven so wear sturdy shoes.

We got the shuttle from Sheraton bus terminal which was approximately $20. On the way the driver stopped at some great spots for photos of the coast and back towards Waikiki. When we arrived at Diamond Head they were bringing in an elderly gentleman by Chopper who had been rescued at the top. Being a bit worried as I'm not... More

Hiking up to the Diamond Head in the early morning were not easy efforts but with the breath taking views, it is a reward after all. The cost us $ 2.50 for the bus and $ 1.00 for entrance, bring Ice H2O and foods, we stay up for lunch with the 360 panoramic view was an excellence choice of a... More
