The boat itself was nice - clean and plenty of room for everyone on board. We went on the breakfast sail and were told to check in at 8:00am. We were on time and so were other travelers but the crew was no where to be found. Hint: Ignore the check in time and show up 5-10 minutes before your... more

I joined the afternoon sailing cruise and this was one of the most exciting adventures during my stay in Hawaii! I will never forget the gorgeous sunset and the rainbow which we were lucky to see that evening. Makani’s crew led by captain Jon is very skillful, they offered us the best service and were very friendly and helpful. These... more

On activities like this, the attitude of the crew makes a big difference. Our crew didn't do anything to bring the voyage to life. No commentary, jokes, or other narration. One of the female passengers was stuck to the captain like glue, and he simply chit-chatted with her the whole voyage. I was glad when he ended the trip about... more

My wife and I visited Honolulu from 7/28 to 8/4 and booked an evening cruise on the Makani. For the $45 per person fee, not only did they pick us up, they provided some food (didn't want to waste the time below deck eating), they gave us two drinks, a two hour long cruise along Honolulu's beaches and then dropped... more

We booked a SNORKEL trip with our hotel who apparently doesn't know what that is. We left Kewalo Basin with about a dozen passengers. The economy has hit Hawaii hard but it was to our benefit with not even 50% booked which meant plenty of room for everyone. There was coffee available but the pastry box and fruit tray were... more

What a fun way to spend some time! We just got back from a week in Oahu (July 27th - Aug. 4th) and went on a Makani catamaran twice. The first time was a lunch cruise. It was very nice with beautiful views of Waikiki and Diamond Head. The lunch pastries were excellent. The second time was a morning cruise.... more

Cap. Jon and his crew make you feel so much at home that I felt like I was home! The sails (we got a GoOahu card and used it for a breakfast sail and a lunch sail) were perfect and just sitting out front enjoying the beauty that is Hawaii was perfect. On the way back in from the lunch... more

Purchased a Go Oahu card on the internet. Well worth the money. Was able to use it for free admission for a afternoon and breakfast sail. Enjoyed both, but especially the afternoon sail. The food and drinks were very good. Had about two hours of sailing time. Saw several whales in the distance. Enjoyed the experience very much. more

From start to finish a first class operation. As a sailor myself, it was evident that Captain Jon is a consumate professional; as is his crew. They all did a marvelous job making certain everyone was well tended to.The value for your money is incredible! I highly recommend this trip! more

Listen, Sail Makani is a great deal. Great I say. Capt Jon and his crew make the experience awesome. This is a fabulous boat, well crewed, comfortable, great food and drinks. Our voyage went from the harbor out to sea and then drifted in front of the incredible Honolulu skyline to watch the fireworks display. Highly recommended. more
