From the preliminary activities and demonstrations on the grounds, to the wonderful food and Polynesian cultural show, the action never stopped during this thrilling evening. The ending tribute to those serving/having served and fallen heros was very moving and particularly meaningful for this military crowd. Thanks go to the many performers who put on this great cultural experience.

The hotel itself is modest but located in Waikiki, it is an Armed Forces Recreation Center which means that only active duty service members and their families, retired military and veterans can use it. The Luau is on the grounds of the hotel so same restrictions to attending. That said, if you meet the requirements this is a great luau,... More

I first visited this hotel in 1976 when I was in the Navy stationed at Pearl Harbor. It always was the destination of my wife and I along with my shipmates and their spouses/girlfriends/etc. 38 years later it has even gotten better! The Luau is first class and very authentic to the history of the event. It wasn't oversold or... More

We had a wonderful time at the luau. The show was excellent, but the food was average (what I expect when serving hundreds at once). The performers were good, but the guy who was doing the commentary wasn't so great...he was a one hit wonder, and still thinks that makes him relevant. What was different here than at others was... The food was good, however a little rushed. The show was excellent. Credit should go to the luau dance performers. Sure would have been nice to sit at an eight man table vs ten-very little room to move.

For a little over $50 a person, the experience was excellent. Lots of activities for children and adults, 1 fee drink included and great food! The host was s little cheesy- but the dancers were great! They even had a 15 year old world champion fire dancer! At the end there was a tribute to the armed forces which caused... More

My wife and I had a great time at this luau. The food was great and the show was excellent! It was great having our hotel room right there since the mai thais were strong. Can't wait to go back.

We booked this after spending a lot of time researching it on TripAdvisor. The Hale Koa Resort seems very nice and the scenery was great. We might actually think about staying there on our next visit. After getting to the Luau, they give you a complimentary drink, take your picture (that they sell you later for $15) and you can... Attended the Luau last night and I consider it a must see for Waikiki. The whole event was exciting and professionally done from the complimentary Mai Tai when you walk in to the greet the cast on your way out. We have attended other luaus in the past, but this one is hands down the best thus far !! The... More

Having been at the Old Lahaina Luau and loving it, this Luau at the Hale Koa was also excellent but very different. They had activities for everyone to participate like making lei bracelets, palm headbands, the guy climbing the palm tree, the coconut demonstration, etc. The show itself was very artistic and fun as it involved audience members as well....
