We went to the Arizona Memorial and Battleship Missouri. This was a return trip for me but it had been several years ago. The US Parks department has completed construction and redone the area. They layout is great, and the improved look is fantastic. We were able to meet some of the survivors that were there that day. Sadly, there... More

My wife got to meet and talk with one of the actual survivors from that day, she said it was not only moving but gave her great pleasure to thank him personally for his service and hear is story. It was interesting to get a first hand impression of the attack on Pearl Harbour. Quite a moving experience and puts history into context. A must visit if you are on Oahu!

We went on a day trip to Pearl Harbour. Coach took us on to Ford Island which is subject to High Security. Then went to the Pearl Harbour visitor centre which contains a wide range of exhibits relating to Pearl Harbour and the day of Infamy in December 1941. You can purchase a ticket to visit the Arizona Memorial and... More

A trip to Hawaii isn't complete unless you have gone to Pearl Harbour. You can get there yourself by car or bus but note that the bus is very slow and takes around 1 1/2 hours (although it is only $2.50 each way). You are best to book through a tour company (we used Roberts Hawaii and found them to... More

Only that I had heard about it, I'm so glad I went to see it. Very moving, informative and tranquil. Quite sad but I am proud to say I have visited.

Don't miss this amazing bit of history. Completely redone in the last couple years. The exhibits, movie and boat ride to the memorial was all free. Great for families.

You can not visit the Island without a visit to Pearl Harbor!. Went on a coach trip and was told that large cameras were not allowed, or bags whilst walking round, they do have lockers there, Left my camera on the locked coach and found that once in every one else were walking around with large cameras... not happy. This monument to the fallen is one not to be missed. One cannot help but be moved by the tragedy that occurred at this place all those years ago. The American people have displayed the right honour to the memory of its defence force heroes. You need several hours at the site to get a true sense of the events... More
