Our family enjoyed this experience very much. We took my 11-year-old granddaughter and her friend, also 11. The girls loved the movement of the boat and watching the crew handle the sails. The crew were friendly, knowledgeable and experienced. Drinks were available and there is a restroom on board. We sailed out into the harbor and along the shoreline to... More

Great customer service all around. For 1 1/2 hour tour it was nice. Staff was informative and very friendly.

Watch out for the Adirondack II - one of the most disorganized companies I have ever tried to sail with in Newport. Desk staff members don't know what they're talking about, policies magically change, everyone gives you different information when asked a question: the tour is overpriced at best and they clearly don't treat their employees well at all. Go... More

I had never sailed. Here we were in Newport, sailing capital of America and all these sleek, seductive sailboats were out on the bay. This was certainly the time to get my first sailing experience so we booked a 5pm sail. Everything was handled smoothly by the staff: reservations, ticketing, boarding, getting drinks onboard, returning and disembarking. The day was... More

Unfortunately there is one thing we can’t control and that’s the amount of wind we have when we set sail. So, although you didn’t think you had an authentic sailing experience, you did. It was just not the one you envisioned. It was a light air day on the water. I hope you can join us again on a windy... More

This was the first time I've been under sail. It was the perfect way to spend my 50th birthday! No diesel or gas fumes or the engine drone of a power boat. And the Adirondack II was incredibly beautiful. You get to see soooo much more from the bay -- instead of glimpses caught over fences and border hedges, the... More

Happy belated birthday and welcome to the world of sailing. There is nothing our crew likes better than to introduce people to the sport. We try to cut our engines as soon as possible to let our guests fully enjoy the sailing experience. I can’t think of a better way to spend your birthday. And I hope now you’re hooked... More

Spent a week in Newport - we had to get on the water. This cruise was perfect. It was 90 minutes and we went out in the afternoon. We had three very attentive deck hands taking care of us. They did work for tips so they wandered around a lot and answered our questions. They talked about some of the... More

We recently had the experience of enjoying roughly 90 minutes of pleasurable sailing that took us around the Narragansett Bay, past Fort Adams and Castle Hill and on by Brenton Point in the Sound. My spouse, who is oft a bit apprehensive with respect to open water boating experiences, could not have been more relaxed and self-assured with respect to... More

A trip on the Adirondack II Is a must do while in Newport. The staff on the boat is actually sailing while you sit back and enjoy the view and sip a cocktail. The staff is very knowledgable and friendly to answer any question and share some laughs. This was a 90 minute ride and well worth the $32. I... More

If you are vacationing in Newport (and you did not arrive by boat), you just HAVE to get on the water somehow, and this is a great option. Friendly, accommodating staff, great scenery and reasonably priced drinks. What could be better?

We had a great time on this sailboat! The trip was worth the price and the crew was very nice and accommodating! Definitely try this when in Newport, especially on a nice day.
