The harbor cruise was a very nice way to see some sights and get some corky fun facts. My teenage daughter enjoyed it as well as her grandmother.

This place has it all. It is great if you plan for a quick stop in Newport. Right on the water it has great atmosphere. You can branch out from here but you don't need to.

Loved the shops that lined the wharf. The Black Dog shop was cute and fun. I bought my little poodle some peanut butter doggie biscuits there. Several restaurants are located here as well.

My family and I love this event. We attended for the second time this year and it's just lovely. All of the restaurants and bars have tents where you can purchase new england clam chowders, lobster bisque, fish tacos, craft beer, wine, desserts, lobster, shrimp, etc. Reasonable prices... and the live music was wonderful- especially the band who played the... Cute area and I didn't let the girl sitting in the info booth on Oct 6 ruin my mood with her bad attitude (but I will vent). We scheduled a 2:30 cruise and I simply asked if Gansett cruises had a sign because I couldn't find it and she handed me a brochure and rudely said, "I guess". Gal, you're... More

Shopping was okay, but a bit of a tourist trap. The dining at 22 Wine Bar was nice, but the patio would have been better if they weren't rebuilding the actual restaurant. I would recommend their red sangria though!

It's amazing to just people watch while walking around this area and Bannisters Wharf. Lots of cute shops and little outdoor cafes for just coffee, or a raw bar with drinks.

All the wharfs are great. Restaurants, shops, boats everywhere. We went on Memorial Day and it was packed but fun. A little ice cream, a beautifully behaved actual black lab outside The Black Dog shop, the huge boat anchor for my daughter to climb on....just great atmosphere and a perfect day out.

I personally like to walk a;long the water side and look into the Black Dog Shop and have a relaxing cop of coffee at the coffee shop behind the store. Pastries are great and the boats that are tied up there make you think of the 18th century waterfront you read about. We always look forward to this annual trek... More
