This is a great hidden treasure in Newport. We made our own ornaments. A ton of fun and what a great keepsake to have from our trip.

I went with my husband for my birthday to Thames Glass. What a great event. It is wonderful to watch the blowers at work, but to be able to create your own piece of art is a thrill. I am not artistic, but the folks at Thames Glass are really knowledgeable and they make sure you get it right. It's...

We took a glass blowing class here and it was awesome! I was so nervous but the glassblower was so nice and helped us make two beautiful ornaments. We can't wait to come back year after year to add to our collection.
My wife and I recently stopped in to make our own paperweights. Shane was awesome! He was funny, patient and a true artist. We had such a great time. It was well worth it, and the paperweights look great!
We ventured in on a snowy day. With no one else in the shop, we were able to stand in front of the window to the studio as long as we wanted. We watched the glassblowers give a couple of lessons and it was a lot of fun to see the pieces being created.
It is a shop that sells hand-made, upscale glass. Ornaments average $36.00 and up. You can stand and watch the glassblowers work or you can pay a fee and learn/participate in creating either an ornament or paperweight. Either way it is a great learning experience.
barb and shane were fun to work with in this more than educational venture, while we made our own bowl !!! make this a stop if you are looking for something to do...or sure to have fun!!!
My friend bought me a beautiful pumpkin made from one of the artisians. Have to come here and appreciate the beautiful work.
A little bit out of the way but worth the trip!! Do a glass blowing session and take it home. Did an ornament made so well that it has even dropped a couple of times and didn't brake. Just do it early in the trip because takes a few days before you can pick it up
We enjoyed our visit to Thames glass very much and would suggest it as a must do if your visiting Newport. Our family made both ornaments and a paperweight with the friendly, patient and knowlegable guidence of their glassblower.
