We had driven the route, but decided to take the tour to learn more about the area and were not disappointed. She was friendly, funny and informative. Suggest you consider your first day.

Lucked out that additional tour times had been added because of our cruise ship arrival. Anne was an excellent guide, gave us lots of historical details about we were seeing. After 1 1/2 hours though one could get tired of all the details. Note this is an old trolley, with small decorated windows which may interfere with picture taking. Also... More

We road this trolley around Newport as the driver gave a description of the major sites as we passed them. These included things like the church where Jackie O and Jack Kennedy were married, the fort, Eisenhower's place, various mansions (old and new), ..... For an additional fee, you could also tour one of the gilded age museums - we... More

Pat was our tour guide on the trolley as was embarked on our journey to explore the city of Newport. His knowledge and candor were refreshing. Not scripted, not canned, he imparted his wealth of information to us in a very enjoyable way. When he picked us up from The Breakers mansion tour, we asked about dinner recommendations, of which... Good narration and they make a few scenic stops for photo opportunities. They go past downtown and all the mansions, including the Carey Mansion, of which the exterior was used in the opening of The Dark Shadows television series. What I didn't like is that it was a cool day outside and they had air conditioning on the trolley. I... More

We took the tour our first day. It was very informative and interesting ti learn about the town and the history. You could drive yourself around but you would miss the little tidbits the tour guide shares. It helped us decide on what we wanted to see during our visit.

This 1.5 hr tour provides an excellent orientation to the history of Newport and explains how Newport went from one of the 5 top US ports thru the Gilded Age and on to its current tourism and boating based economy. Our guide Ann was articulate and knowledgeable and we left the tour with a sense of what it was like... More

Our driver Jim was very informative and we saw so many things. I'm very glad the visitor center recommended the tour. It helps to do this first so you can get a feel of the lay out of the city. Bonus was the cost for off season. Definitely a must do

We enjoyed the trolley tour. Our driver was Ann who was very pleasant and gave a nice commentary and insight to what we were seeing as we toured. She had a great sense of humor and was very personable.
