Enjoy a breathtaking motor boat tour of Newport Harbor and relive the speed and thrill of the chase of the smuggler boats from the days of Prohibition. Motor yacht Rum Runner II, which was originally built for two New Jersey mobsters to elude the Coast Guard offers the luxury of a classic yacht and intrigue you would imagine of a high-speed bandit motor boat with a history all her own while touring Newport Harbor.

We did the 5:30 cocktail cruise. It was unobtrusive and fun. No narration (there are other tours for that), rum punch, and gorgeous views of the harbor. Music was good but not too loud. Get on board first for a good seat (we sat behind the captain).

Rum Runner is a Prohibition era vessel, albeit with some modern upgrades (engines, for instance). Nora and Jay did a great job on the tour: Nora is an attentive, bubbly, knowledgeable hostess, and Jay is a competent Captain, who also has lots of knowledge to impart. If you take this cruise anytime soon, he may no be there, though, as... More

Originally we were going to book a different cruise but the management and staff told us we would not be allowed bc we are a bachelorette party and we would be too loud. I was upset. So I did some research and I found the Rum Runner II cruise. I booked all 9 tickets without a problem. We showed up... More

I found the Rum Runner trip very enjoyable. Great antidotes along the way, a very pleasant way to spend the afternoon. I don't remember drinks other then soft drinks but remember having a nice time. I'll be going agin in a few weeks with a friend who hasn't been. I'm looking forward to it.

We randomly picked this 1:30pm 1.5 hour cruise/tour and at $25/person it was well worth it. The crew was extremely friendly and informative. Complimentary water and Iced Tea was provided. The ride was comfortable and fun. We saw lots of sights including landmarks, lighthouses, mansions, boats and sailboats, to name a few. This is definitely worth it.

So great you joined us spur of the moment! The East Passage Express offers a great narration of the harbor and the bay. We also have a Lighthouse and Mimosa cruise each morning on Rum Runner II which details the lighthouses you see while you're out on the water. Hopefully you can make it back to try one of our... Before selecting a tour of Newport Harbor from the water I decided to read review on Trip Advisor. After a lot of research my wife and I settled on Rum Runner II with hopes we would have Mark and Nora as our captain a and guide respectively for our narrated tour. It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon in early May.... More

We really enjoyed our tour on the Rum Runner II. The pilot and tour guide were very friendly and gave lots of information. We enjoyed hearing the stories. I suggest sitting on the port (left) side if you want to see what the guide is talking about. If the boat is crowded (ours wasn't), you would have trouble getting good... More

Thanks for the review of Rum Runner II! It does tend to be a bit more windy on the boat once you get out into the harbor, which is great on hot summer days but it may get a little chilly on the cooler days. Unfortunately we do not go past the Newport mansions that are on Bellevue but you... More
