I took the 4:15 Aquidneck Schooner sail. It was awesome. Great way to spend a cpl hours after the Jamestown 1/2 Marathon. The crew was GREAT. I volunteered to help raise the sails as no one else was much interested. I love participating....the feel to speed when the wind catches the sails is awesome. Reasonable price too $29.50 for an... This is a must do when visiting Newport! Pay the extra money for the private tour! Even though the fog moved in while we were out our Captain Mike showed a side of Newport you can only see from the bay. Thanks for the entertaining and educational sailing experience Mike!

Went on the 10:00 AM sail on Saturday, July 5th and it was wonderful. First, the reservation online was easy to use. Also, I called several times to speak to someone and the lady was very nice and helpful, answering all my questions, and giving us good information about the parking situation and warning us that it gets really crowded... I 'sailed' on the Aquidneck schooner with my 9 year old son. They offered complimentary OJ for kids and Mimosas for adults. They allowed children to help hoist the sails up, and to steer the boat too. The weather was great and the sea was very calm. That being said, there wasn't enough wind to truly sail, so we 'motored'... More

I had a wonderful and relaxing sail aboard the Aquidneck schooner with my family. If you’re looking for a laid back sail, then this is the sailboat for you. You sail leisurely for almost 2 hours along the Newport Harbor/Narragansett Bay and have great views of the Pell Bridge, Jamestown, Fort Adams, Fort Wetherill, Hammersmith Farm, and Castle Hill. The... More

We chose this boat trip because they specifically said they weren't going to talk a lot about the sites, which is exactly what they did, taking 30 minutest just to get outside to the bay. They only sailed for about 45 minutes. It was a beautiful day but the boat was uncomfortable, as well. It's a decent trip for tourists... More

Hi I apologize that your sail with us was not what you had expected. Occasionally when the wind is very light or nonexistent, our captains will motor sail close by some of the large seaside estates in Brenton's Cove which can only be sailed in with a vessel the size of Aquidneck, when the wind is very light. Our crew... More

We sailed in the sunset cruise of the Aquidneck sailboat in a beautiful automn evening. After departing we were offered champagne, beer and water by a very cordial crew. As soon as we left the wharf the motor was stopped and we started sailing. It was a fantastic experience!!! We enjoyed the sailing and the friendly crew.

Having explored the Mansions all day, we decided to take the 4 pm trip on the Aquidneck. The 1 and 3/4 hour trip only costs $30 for each person, which is a great deal with what you get. The staff were humorous, friendly, and informative on attractions in the area. My first trip on a sailboat will not be my... More

Our sail on the Aquidnek was the highlight of our stay in Newport! Having never been on a sailboat, we were hesitant to try this at first, but we were so glad we took the plunge! The sailboat is large with plenty of comfortable seating. There are even blankets provided if you get chilly. The one hour and forty five... More

If you want to take a nice, easy, family friendly sail, go to sightsailing. The price is reasonable for a 13/4 hour sail, the crew are friendly and informative, and its SOOO peaceful. Best way to see Newport, hands down. ( If you are more adventurous taka a sail on one of the 12 meter sailboats; for example Americas Cup... More

Glad you had a nice sail aboard Aquidneck. For guests seeking a livelier more action-oriented sail, we do offer sails aboard our 46-foot sport sloop, Sightsailer. Keep in mind that the biggest variable in contributing to your sailing experience is the strength of the wind. The winds in Newport tend to be light in the morning, build all afternoon, and... More
