My sister and I took our group of 4 adults and 7 kids on the 90 minute scenic cruise of Newport on the Madeleine. It was absolutely beautiful and we learned a bunch about Newport. The staff was very informative and let each of the kids steer the boat while we were sailing. For 25-30 dollars, it was definitely worth... More

We enjoyed our morning light house tour on The Rum Runner II.It was nice to see the water view of Newport,Jamestown and Narragansett Bay.The informative Captain and his outgoing first mate gave a good historical tour of famous people, homes , sea vessels and places of interest. This vessel has been in operation since 1929. After prior days of continuous... More

My family visits Newport at least once each summer, and often several times. This summer was the 4th time that we booked the schooner, The Madeleine, for a 90-minute scenic day sail around Narragansett Bay. This 72' schooner can accommodate up to 49 passengers, though it's rarely that packed. It departs from Newport harbor (Bannister's Wharf) and sails south in... More

We booked an afternoon sail on the Madeline, and a morning lighthouse tour on the Rumrunner II. Our afternoon on the Madeline was amazing - warm & sunny, and clearly, the captain knew what he was doing as it was the most amazing sail. The crew was knowledgeable, professional and courteous. Complimentary ice tea/soft drinks/water. Our morning lighthouse cruise on... More

Sailing Newport Bay, a cruise that almost put my sensory perception on overload, with my wife and adult daughter on a 72 foot Bermuda rigged schooner called Madeleine on the breathtakingly sunny day of June 16, 2014 with flat seas was cathartic in effect. This is a beautifully crafted two-masted wooden hull schooner that simply glides through the water. Upon... More

We went out on the Madeleine for an afternoon sail the wind was perfect we had a great time on the boat. The 2 man and one woman crew was wonderful and very informative. If you have the good fortune to go out with good wind it is a great value and a good time.

Thanks for your review and I am so glad you had such an enjoyable time. Madeleine is a great vessel that sails exceptionally well. Newport has long been known as one of the sailing capitals of the world and the predominant wind here is South West which is so favorable to sailing in Narragansett Bay. We love to sail and... More

Thank you so very much for letting us know how wonderful you sail was. It does get chilly on the sunset sails this time of year but if you dress for it (and we do have blankets too), there is great sailing and some of the best sunsets of the sailing season. We provide beer, champagne and a selection of... More

The Madeleine Classic Cruise was a wonderful, enjoyable, relaxing, inexpensive, personal wonderful experience. The crew was fun, friendly and knowledgeable ... They felt more like friends than tour guides... My fiancé and I will take the cruise again when we return to Newport. Money well spent!

Peter and his crew did a great job on our tour of the harbor and bay area. He and his crew were very informative of the history of the bay, fort and other questions from us.
