Absolutely loved this beach! Small, clean, and had concessions with bathroom, outdoor showers and private changing rooms. The burgers were delicious! Ice cream and ices as well. Great for the kids and adults! Perfect for swimming and minimal sea weed!

I love this little gem of a beach. It is located in a small lagoon with a reef taking the worst waves from the Atlantic Ocean. The beach itself is beatiful with white sand and the water relatively shallow with good sand bottom. There is some seaweed longer out, but you can avoid it. As a fun bonus it has... More

I had the pleasure to be able to visit this private beach only because my daughter knew somone. Cute little beach and out of the towns busy streets.

Bonus, they rent chairs, umbrellas and have kayaks to use included in the $20 fee for access which is great for those who are traveling and want to be comfortable on the beach without spending a fortune. The fee is about the same you would pay if you have out of state plates on your car at any other beach.... More

Gooseberry Beach is fantastic. Beautiful, quite and clean. There are great rock formations that you can swim out to and a nice little concession stand.

This is one of the cleanest, most beautiful beaches I've been to in the lower 48. I don't care that it costs $20 to park there. I'm glad it does. There were fewer numbers of people and no riff-raff. There wasn't a single piece of trash anywhere on this beach. The sand was soft and white. The snack shack has... More

We visited on June 26 and the water was very calm. No waves at all to speak of. There was a large amount of dark seaweed both in the water and on the shoreline. We really did not want to swim, as it was impossible to find a spot without the water appearing very dark from the seaweed. The sand... More

Parking is $20. That's the beginning and end of any complaints about this beach. There are shower and changing facilities, beach toys/umbrellas to rent (reasonable) and a fantastic snack bar with very nice people working there. We've visited this beach close to a hundred times and never had a problem with waiting for parking, particularly since it's off the beaten... More

This beach is tucked away on the far side of Newport downhill from the mansions. It's somewhat smaller, but not as exposed to main streets and big crowds like some of the other Newport beaches. Nice rock formations to climb around on. Not even that bad to haul your stuff from the parking lot to the beach.

We love this little beach, away from the very busy crowded town center. The quiet cove has views of the water and mansions of Newport, is calm and lovely for children, and also boasts a nice little cottage that serves tasty food. It is well worth the parking fee. We look forward to going there whenever we are in Newport.
