We had to do at least one historical location, and we chose Fort Adams. Interesting and we chose the perfect weather day to visit (7/3). There's no "real" food, so pack a lunch. The "cafe" consists of bagged snacks, water, tea all self serve. The VIEWS are amazing. It's a nice walk around

I went to the Newport Folk Festival at Fort Adams. We listened to fabulous music. Behind us was the ocean, the spectacular Newport Bridge, and numerous boats. Some boats were passing by, while others stopped to listen to the music. It was a perfect setting for a perfect day.

this fort was never used during any war or combat however it is a vast building and walls are made to repel any enemy. Hidden passages still are in the buildings walls. Now used for holding great events such as concerts, shows, any large events that were held over in town but now are held here. it can hold a lot more... More

... with even better views, We hiked around the outskirt of the park for 1.5 hours at 5-6:30. Views of boats, bridges and surrounding islands were spectacular. Three of the four sides of the fort face the water.

Filled with wonderful history and experienced the tour with a very interesting and informed guide. You were able to see the restored portion as well as some portions to be yet restored. The history was fascinating and the tour was well worth the price. It was interesting how they protected the waterway and how they protected themselves from a land... More

This is a great spot for sailing enthusiasts! A great location to watch sailboats on the water of all sizes and makes! You can also watch smaller boats race in regattas! The view towards downtown is excellent from this vantage on the East side and walk to the west side and see the opening to Narraganset Bay, Jamestown with fort... More

Took the guided tour of this forty yesterday. Definitely worth doing the guided tour to be able to see the underground tunnels. Would have been nice to see more of the tunnels. Also keep in mind much of the fort is still under renovation. Staff very friendly

It was the time of departure of nautical race of the Volvo, and there were many people on site to take advantage of the day promised to be fun. The diversity of boats, new Volvo cars on display, included one that you cand drive with your cellphone, and the whole place gave me good family moments. The fort is really... More
