Took the tour with my two teenage sons. We all three found it interesting. They take you through the whole place, even the old, unrestored sections so you can really see all different facets. There are multiple fortifications you can't appreciate from the outside and even underground tunnels that you can walk through. It's rare in today's day and age... More

Loved the view of the pell bridge. Amazing place to watch the sunset and boats out on the bay. Even toured the fort during the fort of terrors for Halloween.

Fort Adams is definitely worth the visit. We took a guided tour ($12 for adult and $6 for 6+ kids), which was well worth the money. The tour lasted about an hour and gave a really good overview of the history and design of the fort. It was pretty cool to walk in the dark tunnels with flash lights. I... More

Our highly knowledgeable and informative tour guide led us at an appropriate pace for a mixed age group who had to walk for an hour that included winding stairs, tunnels and many rooms in this HUGE fort.

There is always something going on at Fort Adams, even if it is "only" a lovely walk along the bay or a tour of the Fort itself. If you enjoy sailing, check out the Yachting Museum, or better yet stop by Sail Newport and rent a sailboat for a few hours.

Very easy access from Thames Street....mile or so away, and with plenty of parking, this would be a great place to visit and take the tour. We drove to the area and, did get to speak with a caretaker who gave us a brochure and enciouraged us to come back in the spring......will likley make a point to do just... More

Nice place to sit and relax by the ocean and watch the ships go by. Fun to watch the kites flying and especially to go and watch the annual kite festival.

The Fort Adams State Park is interesting, but the bay walk is by far the best part. Walking along the shore is always so pleasant, and having this path makes it easy and comfortable.

Intriguing and huge. Fun place to explore. This place provides space for lots of different Newport events. Go there. Most likely something will be going on.
