For those who love history, this is a great place to visit. Unlike some other forts, there is a guided tour which I recommend. You even get to go into the underground tunnels beneath the fort. If visiting in the summer, bring sunscreen, as you are out in the open for much of the tour. The surrounding park also has... More

You can do a self guided or guide led tour (recommended). Interesting history and the view---AMAZING! Bring a lunch or pick up one from nearby and sit on the grounds overlooking Narragansett Bay. It lives up to the title "NASA of it's day"

afterbustle of town, Fort Adams felt oceans away. This historic fort has bee restored just enough to give the real feeling of what living there must have been like. Standing on the silent parade grounds you can feel the echoes of the soldiers stationed here. A unique experience of the early 1800s.

We were at Fort Adams last summer for the Volvo Ocean Race and enjoyed the venue immensely! First off, you can't beat the view of the bay from this angle! Almost 365 degree views because the Fort juts out on a promontory. Second, the events are so well managed. Parking was clearly defined and coming in and out was orderly,... More

We were getting ready to do another mansion tour but the sun was out and it seemed a good time to visit Fort Adams. Even though it was December, it was close to 60 degrees with the sun out - so it was actually hot given how we were dressed. For our guided tour, we had a grand total of... More

My wife and I have visited Ft. Adams dozens of times, but, never took the tour. This time, with our sister in law in tow, we took it. It was very informative and entertaining. The regular price is $12 each but because I am retired Navy our price was $10 each. It's well worth the money

This was 1 hour of my life I can't get back. The tour guide was really bad and a little weird! Didn't really know his stuff, kept to his script and that's it. Plenty of better things to see on Newport.
