Visiting the Fort for its history, and was hesitant to take the tour since really wanted just to wander. But the size and condition of some of the more interesting areas means they restrict the visits to the tours. Thought if its what it takes is $12, then ok. The money was well spent. The tour went into places (tunnels... More

My husband and I really enjoyed visiting Fort Adams. If you have the time it’s worth it to take the guided tour in order to see more of the fort. The views from the fort are some of the prettiest.

Historic Fort Adams State Park is a marvelous experience for families, history buffs, walkers and photographers. The Fort is accessible via car if you driving the stunning Ocean Drive circuit. Visitors can also take the water taxi from busy Thames Street or walk/bike from the lower end of Thames Street (away from the area of area of shops and eateries)... More

I took the water taxi out to the Fort, I enjoyed the taxi and the sights along the way. The fort grounds also serve as a great place to take photographs of the bridge and the sail boats. But there really isn't a lot of places to go. You can buy a ticket to walk around the fort or you... More

Fort Adams has great views of the harbor and plenty of boats. The breeze was refreshing and the 2 mile walk is good exercise. The fort is a neat place to visit.

My hubby and I took a boat ride out to Ft. Adams State Park. We went on the guided tour of Ft. Adams which was extremely interesting. The history of how it came to be and the mastermind behind the design of it was very intriguing! If you are a military history buff, this tour is for you! If you... More

We just missed the tour which is offered once per day so it is probably something you want to plan for. We really enjoyed the trail around the park. The views were spectacular and the park was nice.

I've been to Fort Adams before, and yes, it's a lovely location. But this time, I took the guided tour. Wow! If you want to see the bay from up on the fort's ramparts and get a chance to go thru underground tunnels, as well as learn a lot about living conditions and all the tricky ways they would have... Fort Adams is well worth the time to visit, even without taking a tour. It is situated on such a lovely prominent point with incredible bay and ocean views. Rhode Island is so often overlooked but has such an interesting and compelling history during the revolutionary war days, and a visit to Fort Adams is a great way to experience... More

My husband and I did not take the tour since it was such a beautiful day to be outdoors. We chose to walk outside and check out the boats and the sights on the water. We followed along the road in the back and climbed down to the beach area since a local we met at Easton Beach told us... More
