Had a great time at Fort Adams - the staff was friendly, the grounds were immaculate and even though there were THOUSANDS of people leaving at the end of the day, the traffic control was phenomenal.

Although I've only done the tour of Fort Adams once, I do visit the fort every time I'm in Newport. If it's a rainy day, I love packing a lunch, sitting in the car and enjoying the beautiful view.

Very interesting tour of Fort Adams which was built to protect Newport from the British. Only problem is it was completed after the wars were all done. What is fascinating is the design of the structure to withstand all kinds of attacks. War buffs will undoubtedly enjoy this tour, as well as people interested in history. Fair amount of walking... My husband found a great spot high on the hill with picnic tables under a tree. Fantastic location to watch the sailboats go by.

Bring a chair. Bring an umbrella for shade. Bring a picnic. Take a stroll. Admire the view. I never tire of just doing nothing at Fort Adams. So many people seems to just wander around, don't make that mistake. Make Fort Adams a destination for a morning, an afternoon or all day and just relax and enjoy the beauty that... More

Connor our tour guide was very knowledgeable and very patient with some very inquisitive children ( not ours!). Small gift shop with souvenirs and snacks and restrooms. Gorgeous views of Narragansett Bay. A Del's frozen lemonade truck appeared at the end of our hot and sweaty tour. Heavenly treat!

This was our 5th fort of the summer and pretty much topped all of the others. We did the guided tour so we could go on top of the fort and into the tunnels as well. These parts are not accessible if you do the self guided tour. Our guide was good. He told us from the beginning to take... More

I took my nephew and niece to Newport to spend the day with them for their birthdays. The Fort Adams tour was their favorite part, as well as mine. I wish I could remember the name of our tour guide. He was so informative and was amazing with the children! He absolutely knew what he was doing and had a... More

The fort is well worth your time. The guides do an incredible job, they know so much history but they really make you want to learn more. The tour requires a lot of walking, some climbing and a great deal of walking through tunnels in the fort which in some cases requires you to bend a great deal because of... More
