We stopped here as part of a bus tour and enjoyed it very much. Take the guided tour every hour as the tour guide will tale you in places not shown on your own. The underground tunnel is cool..get your own flashlight but wouldn't recommend if you are claustrophobic or gave a fear of dark places as the tunnels go... More

Do NOT use the restrooms on your right after immediately turning onto the road leading to the Fort. This is managed by the state park rangers and was the most disgusting, rundown, rusted bathroom I have ever been in - worse than most gas station bathrooms. However, when you get to the visitor's center for the actual Fort (we did... More

My family has overlooked Fort Adams for years and years. It's a great run from downtown. You can drive or bike there with ease. We've certainly taken the tour which offers great insight on the history of the fort and unbelievable views of the Bay. The tour guides are friendly and confident. It is free to walk around the outside.... More

Nice informative tour interesting information on the history of Fort Adams. If you have time do the two and a half mile loop around the fort for some great harbor views.

Nice long walk to the US Coast Guard ship. Fascinating history. Picnic benches. Free museum and paid tour if interested. Would have gone but did not have enough time to go.

A nice spot to visit. If you go I would suggest taking the tours that go every hour on the hour. The guides will get you into places you wouldn't see if you were on your on. Great history and story.

Home to the Newport Jazz festival, this park (which served as a coastal fortification beginning in 1841) offers a stunning view of Newport Harbor and the East Passage of Narragansett Bay. One can picnic, walk, jog, fish, swim, take the tour or just simply take in the amazing water views. Worth a side trip to see this place.
