Think late 1800's-early 1900's architecture..lots of brass even in elevator doors. Great stone work. These old buildings must have been fabulous in their day and still have great character

The Ellicott Square is such a beautiful place to vist. It is just breathtaking and has withstood the test of time. Wish there was someone available to give out information on the building, however, the city's brochures on the walking tours is informative. Beautiful!

My son and his bride got married at this beautiful building in a very small May wedding. The lighting was prefect for photos. Many of my friends love seeing the pictures but I was amazed that almost all asked where they had been taken. The staircases, piano, tile floor were all featured in the photos and brought as many comments... More

This is just a beautiful building. Not much more to say. It's one of the prettiest in the city. If you have any interest in architecture, this is a "must see.

one of the first admonitions we received upon arrival in town was to "not call it the Ellicott Square Building, it's not a 'building,' just a square"... a remarkable example of gothic old office architecture with heavy doors and a huge court with specialty jewelers and walk-off-and-eat-it food shops... even though it's the same place, almost, Charlie the Butcher seems... Near Pilot Field you'll see a grand old office complex with a rich history. Once the largest in the world this grand old building has aged well and it a real treat to visit. Long before Hitler misappropriated the ancient symbol, the swastika was incorporated into the mosaics of the main floor. The interior ib a masterpiece of cast iron... More

In the midst of quite a few architectural gems in downtown Buffalo is the Ellicott Square building. The wrought iron working inside is common to the architecture of Burnham. The two story atrium is a beauty of tile and wrought iron. The inner square is covered by a canopy of frosted glass and wrought iron. Pictures are allowed after signing... More

We ate at the little kiosk inside the atrium and enjoyed the beautiful old architecture.
