What a great place to raise a family. Fantastic resources everywhere. LOVE Hertel Ave business district and the great resturants and shops. One problem: send your kids to private schools

So many great restaurants now/ Crave,Berthas,Lombardos,Romeos and Bellsara are some of our favs. All with great food and service. Several cafes and A Spot Coffee and Allegro round out a great street. Off street parking can be tough but it is very safe. Several boutique shops and do not miss M Donnelly Interiors with unique gifts. There is a bakery,liquor... More

The Hertel Avenue area of Buffalo has had a resurgence with new restaurants, boutiques, antique stores. Park your car and walk down and visit the local businesses. Stop and watch a movie in the newly refurbished North Part Theater and go back in time when a movie theater was something beautiful with the architecture and design

i grew up on saranac ave. and had a great childhood living in this area. I go back often and still enjoy all that this neighborhood has to offer. Very glad to hear that they are reopening North park theater! Bob and Johns la hacienda is a must visit for pizza. Parkside candies for ice cream is a family tridition.

What's not to like about north buffalo, except the winters of course. On one end you have the original UB campus and the other Hertel ave with its bars and restaurants I know people will say Hertel is north park but I always considered it part of noth buffalo.

The first thing that one thinks of when he hears "North BUffalo" is the thriving Hertel Avenue Shopping district. Here is where lovely antique stores, unique boutiques, and fabulous restaurants all line up in an old fashioned and historic business district. But besides Hertel Avenue, there are many other wonderful attractions in North Buffalo: the Buffalo Zoo, Frank Lloyd Wright's... More

We like staying and eating in the Amherst area. The people tend to be nicer and friendlier. It is close to the university as well.

Part of this neighborhood has become known as "Little Italy". On Hertel Avenue you will find several small food stores, restaurants, gift shops and boutiques, all within a few short blocks from Delaware Ave. which also has many well known businesses. The Buffalo Zoo is located just minutes away from Hertel Ave. There are numerous older, larger homes (or mansions)... More

North Buffalo's Hertel Avenue runs five stop-lighted miles from the Niagara River to Main Street and it's a world tour without customs stops or GPS, numerous fine antique shops, various neighborhoods, a movie theater (the North Park) of which they don't make any more and even, for the wicked, a "smoke shop"... it's a little like the "South Pacific" about... Hertel Avenue, between Delaware Ave and Starin Ave has become the new destination for small local shops, nice corner deli's, coffee shops, antique stores and other great restaurants and bars. Hertel ave has always been a place to congregate, but since the rents on Elmwood Ave in teh Elmwood Village skyrocketed, Hertel has become the go-to destination for those fleeing... More
