I recently toured the Forest Lawn Cemetery for their Art in the Cemetery Tour. It was wonderful. The guide was very knowledgeable and extended the tour for those who had extra time. There are walking and Trolly Tours. I chose the trolly which was new, air conditioned and very pleasant. We had one stop where we got out to view... More

I am thrilled you liked the art tour since it is new this year. Researching and showcasing the many beautiful pieces of art - both big and small - has been alot of fun to do. There are so many areas of interest to investigate. There is something for everyone. More

Great tours ( Sunday is best ). Has famous historical characters buried there. Characters come alive during certain tours.

We did a short driving tour through Forest Lawn and stopped at the amazing chapel. A truly beautiful stop with so much history.

Management response:

Yes, the Chapel is a gem. Thanks to a local benefactor, the chapel just went through a major restoration. We use it extensively in the winter, as we have concerts, lectures and programs on Sundays, that highlights the many people buried at Forest Lawn. More

This cemetery is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. If you are interested in Buffalo history or like quiet, landscaped spaces, this is a must-see.

This cemetery is beautiful in all seasons. I love watching the Canada Geese raise their young. We watched them sit on their nests this spring. Then we saw the new ducklings as they emerged and now as they are half grown. The grounds are lovely and the historic monuments and mauseoleums are very interesting. The pond or lake with the... We are glad that you enjoy watching the wildlife as they live within our gates. They know a good thing when they see it! And thanks for the suggestion of staying open later on these long summer days. I will pass that suggestion to our management staff. Guests are invited to visit the cemetery after 7pm once a month, as... More

I'll admit, I was a little freaked out to drive through a cemetery for "enjoyment", but it really is beautiful and worth checking out.

So you think you are going to go to a cemetery...NO. You will be embraced by nature, beautiful landscaping, the most amazing stones/ statues, walkways, bridges. You could spend a few hours here easily.

Whether you are on one of our many tours or strolling on your own on the 269 acres you are bound to find some interesting monuments. A favorite thing to do is to look at the epitaphs on stones. My favorite saying on a stone in Forest Lawn is "I told you I was sick" More

In the spring the cemetery is filled with beautiful flowering trees and spring blossoms. Make sure you stop back in the summer and fall to see mother nature at her finest. Our tour season begins next week so come back and learn more about the the people buried here! More

I took the guided walking tour and it was excellent. I learned so much Bufalo history. In addition, there were costumed people who pretended they were some of the dead people. Great fun and well done!!
