Great food, drinking, art, music, and culture... Or, in other words, this is the city's gayborhood :p. check out Gabriel's gate for the best wings in town, funky monkey and other nearby bars for fun but relaxed lgbt nightlife, the Theodore Roosevelt inaugural site for your dose of history, and Nietzsche's for live music every night. A few shops can... More

Popular area for grabbing a bite and some drinks in the evening when we are in town. Very close to downtown hotels.

Don't forget to check out Gabriel's Gate for awesome buffalo wings. Crispy and delicious! Bar-b-que ribs were large and tender.

We stay at the Holiday Inn at Delaware and North once a year to visit downtown Buffalo and always stroll in Allentown. A great mixture of retail, pubs, restaurants and street life. Pride in the neighbourhood is obvious - street art, flower pots, store front attractions. An eclectic area.

Years ago, actually, many years ago, I went to college in Buffalo. I went Downtown expecting to go through the Allentown Red Light District on the way to the Anchor Bar. Wow, what a transformation. Its all little fancy shops and restaurants. Very nice refurb of beautiful architecture. Well worth a walking afternoon.

We stayed here as an alternative to staying at Niagra Falls and have been really pleased with our choice. After coming directly from New York we really liked being able to walk down quiet streets right by our hotel and loved the architecture of all the old buildings. Make sure you go to Mother's restaurant down an alleyway - it... More

Close to where we stayed. Good selection of restaurants for dinner. The streets are lively but not overcrowded.
