Decided to do a little shopping today and of course it rained! We just found a parking space, threw on our rain gear, and headed down Elmwood. There are lovely little shops to visit, places to eat (and drink), and things are always happening at Bidwell Park. Now, we just did one small section of Elmwood (around the 800 section).... More

Elmwood avenue is bustling with all sorts of happenings. GREAT restaurants, wonderful artwork, and an array of colorful people on bikes. Bidwell park was packed with hula hoopers, couples on blankets and families playing Kan-Jam. ( A frisbee game from the Buffalo-area) I wish I could have stayed longer.

This is the best street to walk in Buffalo. I was a little disappointed cause it's rather long to walk and there was not as many shops as I tought it would have. Some areas are shabby and you don't always feel safe depending on what part of the street you are. On the plus side, even if it's really... More

The Elmwood Village area is a trendy, funky place to visit when in Buffalo. Lots of great small, independent shops - from clothing, bakeries, co-op supermarket and much more. People are very friendly and welcoming. There are also many great restaurants - you will not leave the area hungry!! Put your walking shoes/sandals on and get going!!

Get away from the malls and their chain stores, and shop here. Children's and craft shops abound. Park on Elmwood a little to the north or south of the main strip, and you're there for free for two hours, which is probably as much time as you'd want to spend.

I love spending time in Elmwood Village. There is a great vibe going on, and an awesome variety of shops, coffee shops, restaurants, bars, etc. There are always people walking around, whether it is spring, summer, winter, or fall. The only congestion in the experience can be trying to find parking, so just park a block or 2 away from the... There may be some interesting shops, etc. along this route but it's not pedestrian friendly unless you feel like walking the very looong street (2+ miles??). So many areas are rather shabby with numerous houses in need of repair. The only highlight is Pano's restaurant at 1081 Elmwood Ave (north end). The food was terrific, and if the weather's good,... I originally move to Buffalo just to be part of the ELmowwod scene. I live right off Elmwood for 3 years total. I love the atmosphere, the store and unique and great. The restaurant are great, just walking around and enjoy everything it has to offer.
