It's a nice well cared for mausoleum. You can't miss it when you are in the large Forest Lawn cemetery as it's so strikingly beautiful and serene

Interesting to look at it. I can see how he considered nature in this. It looks like not many people have decided to get buried here.

Blue Sky has become one of the most visited spots at Forest Lawn. This is the only funerary design Mr. Wright did and there will never be another one built. There have been numerous burials there and over 20% of the levels have been purchased. Many of the families have chosen not put names on the lots until a death... More

Love the tranquility and that Frank Lloyd Wrights plans were completed. A must see for any Wright followers!

If you are interested in FLW and his work you need to add this to your list. Buffalo has a lot to see and a very nice variety of his style. This piece is nestled along the banks of a small spring fed (maybe Cold Spring which used to be an early source of fresh water for Buffalo?)pond. The granite... More

Walk around (or drive) Forest Lawn Cemetery and you will find something beautiful at every turn. In its simplicity, the Blue Sky Mausoleum is indeed something to see. Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, the mausoleum sits on a hill overlooking Jubilee Springs. It consists of stairs with 12 crypts on each side, rising up a hill to a small plaza... More

This monument is in Forest Lawn Cemetery a fantastic and historic place with many famous people buried there along outstanding sculpture. This a modern construction of a Frank Lloyd Wright design that was never built during his life time.

Only one rich soul is buried in this mausoleum-and just this year. It is very typical of FLW's work-clean lines, blending in the environment as much as granite can blend into a lawn. It's facing a small pond/lake and is reflected in the water. It fits beautifully among the other monuments to those gone before us.

This mausoleum sits empty after being designed for the Martin family (word is that sometime this week - week of Sep 17, 2012 - the first occupant will arrive). The story behind the design and delayed construction of this place is very sad. The longtime FLW parton, Darwin Martin died in poverty and could not afford the monument that he... More
