The is an under-appreciated National Park. On the July weekday we visited (height of the season), we passed a only half-dozen cars and saw only two other families at the several places where we got out to look around. What a waste! The vistas are extraordinary. The rock formations are magical. And at the end, this overlook gives a wide... More

I'm a lover of Oxbows, so this was just magical for me. Worth the out-and-back drive on the scenic route. Husband loved the Concretions turnout. Again, no restrooms anywhere along the drive or at any of the turnouts.

Driving to Oxbow will force you to drive the whole park road in the North Unit. I prefer the short walk out to the River Bend overlook. Absolutely amazing around sunrise/set.

This pit-stop at the end of the North Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park has a beautiful view. Worth getting out of your vehicle for!! My husband proposed to me at this location, so it holds a special place in my heart! A must see if in the North Unit!

Definitely worth the hike up the butte, but also NOT handicapped accessible. View was great, even had a family up there flying a kite. The area has had a lot of rain, so you have to watch where you are walking as the trails can be quite muddy and the soil is clay based. This will be a temporary problem... More

This is a beautiful park. We saw buffalo, white tail deer, longhorn cattle, and more Views from the area are amazing. There are lots of nice hiking trails. The drive to the end of the road is well worth doing as the different views, the information about the history of the area, and more are all worth taking your time... More

THis end of the line viewpoint for the North unit of the TR state park is well worth the trip! The views are stunning (especially at sunset) . Distinctively different from the South unit of TR state park, the North unit has a beauty alll it's own !

The park road was closed for repairs so this oft-photographed overlook was only accessible during the summer and fall of 2012 by hiking there - if planning on driving to it, be sure to call Theodore Roosevelt National Park to see if the road is open.
