This old-timey train station is still a working Amtrak station. There are plenty of souvenirs, clean restrooms and a penny press machine (a great super cheap souvenir). We were given a free map of downtown shops and restaurants. It's a good place to start.

Great Visitor's Center. Friendly staff and all the ammunition (information) we needed to help us explore Flagstaff. All questions asked and answered (as well as where to go for lunch!).

Helpful staff and info about Flagstaff and most of Az. A small gift shop is there with Route 66 items at very good prices. Free parking next to the building

Excellent starting point to experience the Grand Canyon area. Quaint small town with very friendly people and lots of great things to see and do.

Check this place out first if you don't know what to do while in town! There's lots of brochures. Pick up a historic district map and take a stroll downtown.

We enjoyed our visit with Kevin M. at the Flagstaff, Az. Visitor Center. He was helpful, friendly and spot on with his recommendations! Thanks again Kevin.

Thought this would be neat with reviews of "old" train station. Up to date location with normal trains running behind it. Nothing to see.

The folks at this visitor center are friendly and helpful, like at most visitor centers. But here, if you wait about ten minutes, a mile-long train will rumble by and you can step out onto the platform and experience the rush form just a few feet away. You'll feel like a kid again.

The free walking tour map was a little hard to follow, but we met a tour guide, Jerry, there, who, for $10 each, gave us a door of the historic downtown area, including taking us upstairs in the two historic hotels. I recommend seeking out Jerry; he has many stories about the characters and development of this Route 66 town.... More
