What's not to like about a building whose address is 1 East Route 66. The VC shares a building with an Amtrak office and is right next to a main rail line (expect to wait for 100+ car freight trains holding you up frequently). Staff are helpful good selection of brochures and a neat little gift store with AZ and... More

This is a great place to visit in order to get your bearings about flagstaff. An extra benefit is that it is in the historic train station. Amtrak still uses this station. The folks were friendly and there was a lot of information.

We wanted to take a picture near the front with the Route 66 sign and decided to stop in. There were many things for sale which kind of detracted from the environment but there was also some history and information as it was connected to the train ticket booth. Since we had been to the main South Rim entrance the... More

We were traveling through Flagstaff on our way to Sedona, stopped in to ask how to spend a couple hours wisely. The girls were extremely friendly and helpful. The pointed out a few key places and made lunch suggestions. Definitely worth a stop for information.

The ranger on duty on Jan 1 was very helpful. His knowledge of the area, and up to date information helped us plan our trip the sunset crater and Wupatki monument

The attendants were forwarding, with a smile, and useful in their suggestions, including the handing out of ample and well thought out documentation and maps. Within 15 minutes, I knew how to organize myself for the 4 days stay and turn it into a success.

This is in part of the original Flagstaff Train Station. This station is very active with many long freight trains making a pass through here. You can stop in and get some great tour tips but also sit outside a bit and watch the trains passing.
