Took my hubby for his birthday on the ski lift to the top of the volcano mountain. The sights are beautiful and the ride does not take too long, but it does get cold, so make sure to bring a coat and hat, etc... Have fun!

By all means see the Snowbowl even if you're not a skier. We stumbled on it on our way out of the Flagstaff area. There was more green than white, but it was still a special place. It was almost Alpine in appearance. The entire area was neat and clean. Everyone seemed friendly and helpful. If you're in the area,... More

This is an awesome place, it has different ski tracks as well as a snowboard and ski school. If it's your first time skiing, this is the place for you. It has various snack areas that offer really good beer and hots dogs. You should get up there early, by 10am, since the rentals queue gets pretty large within vacations... More

What a thrill to go from spending time in Phoenix where it was 90 degrees to finding snow on a mountain just a few hours drive north. My 12 year old son and I went for 1/2 a day and it was the highlight of his trip. Unbeatable views from the top of the lift

The only skiing option in Flagstaff. Good for beginner to average skiers or snowboarders. Rental was easy. Staff was friendly. Parking was plentiful during our visit - we arrived around 10am on a weekday during spring break. We left about 3pm and it still was not too crowed. Lifts to Black or Blue runs take some work to get to.

This is an easy to get to ski area, very crowded because it is the only one in the area, but I love snow and it had been a year since I walked around in snow, so that is the only reason for going. I do not ski anymore, but in watching, even though there were a lot of people... More

I have skied at about 12 resorts in Colorado and New Mexico. This was my first in Arizona and it was a pretty nice laid back resort. It was spring break but the place was not crowded. Resorts in Colorado are always over crowded during spring break. Lift tickets are priced right as well

The Snow Bowl is a pleasant surprise for people unfamiliar to Arizona. It is located on the west side of an inactive volcano, and is the site of Arizona's highest peak, Mt. Humphreys. There are slopes for every level of skier, and the snow is much more reliable since they have been using reclaimed water to make snow in the... More
