In the summer, we rode the 20 minute chairlift to the top of San Francisco Peak. Peaceful, beautiful and well worth doing. Smallest children might find this ride slightly boring but can still do it. You can walk around the top for as long as you want but we stayed up there less than 30 minutes. Could go up there... More

AZ Snowbowl Hours are weekends only (F-Sa-Su) from 10-4, until mid-October, so it seemed like a great idea to escape to the 'cool-country' for the day. Senior rates are available too. The drive up to the lift is 7-miles of mountain grade switchbacks in a lovely mixed tree forest. The aspens turn wonderful yellows and golds in the fall. Slow... More

Great windy road up the mountain and down. We loved the chair lift and it was not too expensive. Fantastic view and we could see the Grand Canyon in the distance. We could not walk up from the chairlift on the trail as the altitude was creating a balance and breathing challenge. We did walk some of the lower trails... More

This place is beautiful. We took the chairlift up to the top and I had no idea how incredible it would be. My kids 4 & 8 thought it was so cool being up so high on the mountain but my wife and I struggled up and especially down the chairlift due to being afraid of heights. That being said,... More

The Snowbowl is one of two ski areas in AZ. The Snowbowl is reached via road in the summer and by shuttle in the winter. I don't ski but other people tell me that it's good. The Snowbowl is located at 9,500' elevation. The chairlift starts there. That chairlift in summer takes you up to 10,500' and just below Mt.... More

Had an exhilarating time on the Summer Scenic Chairlift ride! Had a great deal on a Groupon for 4 people. Took our teen grandkids. I recommend jackets or blankets and no flip flops, we saw quite a few shoes on the ground below. Might want to take a snack, drink or water and the ride takes awhile. the weather is... More

Thank you Dian P for coming up to experience with Scenic Chairlift Ride. All your recommendations are absolutely correct - shoes appropriate for hiking, layers (jackets or blankets) and snacks! We would also add sunglasses and sunscreen as you are 11,500 feet close to the sun. Thanks again for the tips to our riders, please consider coming back again in... More

Our family started our family vacation with a trip up on the chairlift. The price was right with the groupon we found online. The ride up and down was both scenic and beautiful. Our teens had never been higher than 6k living in Georgia and loved the view. Definitely bring jackets since the temperature drops 20 degrees from bottom to... More

I'm not sure this is a fair review as it was mid June and hot! We did not see anything happening so we took a couple of pictures and left. I was not impressed with the view.

Hello rainy29. Thank you for spending some time with us on the scenic chairlift. We certainly do not advertise ourselves as a high activity attraction. A lot of people find it rather relaxing and enjoyable riding a peaceful chairlift to the top of Arizona at 11,500 feet. The views of north country are different than anywhere else in the desert... We did the ski lift ride to the top this summer. It had such amazing views. My family really enjoyed it. On the ride up, it was so peaceful and we were at eye level with the tree line. It got a little chilly so bring a sweater. When we got to the top we could see all the way... More

Thank you Karen M for spending your afternoon with us on the scenic chairlift. We are glad you and your family enjoyed it. Sweaters or blankets are always a good idea, as the temperatures can differ by 30 degrees from downtown Flagstaff and over 50 degrees with the valley temps. We hope to see you again here soon, maybe in... More

It's fine, no pooches on the Chair lift up to Agassiz Peak. So Gawow hoofed it with my husband. Wildflowers, lupin, the majestic Aspens and 56 degree temps in mid-July, pure Nirvana !!!. Fast moving clouds, Frisbee golfers, patio parties for those content to stay on the deck. All great choices, plenty of pure oxygen up here. A midsummer's day... More

Thank you Mullika A for spending your day off with us at the Summer Scenic Chairlift and leaving this lovely review. As it is hard to predict a pets behavior when they are off the ground for 25-30 minutes each way, for their own safety we do ask that they stay at the bottom and not ride the lift. We... More
