My wife and I went to Flagstaff for our 42nd anniversary and decided to take the ski lift to the top. We are from Phoenix and the heat there is stifling so a trip to this mountain was a welcome relief. We loved the views and the cool, then cold, blowing on us as we ascended the mountain. My only... Northern Arizona is all about the geology with many dormant volcanoes. So take a life ride up thew side of one of these volcanoes and see the landscape covered with other volcanoes. You can see to the Grand Canyon and beyond from the top of the lift. At the base, there is a shop and a pretty good restaurant but... More

We took the scenic ski lift ride to the top of Snowbowl and loved every minute of it! It's about a 30 minute ride, one-way. There were moments on the ride where we heard nothing but silence. After a very stressful two years, a quiet time of relaxing is just what we needed. The lift takes you up in the... More

The Snowbowl in the summer is just gorgeous. And, you don't have to take the ski lift to enjoy it. There are lots of little trails to explore. You can walk or hike the area. There's roadside parking, and as far as I know, it's free to park and walk. Dogs on a leash are welcome. Open sky and no... More

This was a dare to myself as I am afraid of heights and asthmatic. But I am so glad we took the ride to the top. By the way, if the date is within a week of your birthday, it's a free ride. Lift operators do caution you to lift your legs when the chair comes up behind you to... More

We enjoyed our visit. Got a little burnt. Next time will arrive later and take advantage of the free BBQ. Played cribbage on patio after and met other travelers.

Although the lift is a bit pricey ($19 per person) the views are well worth it. It takes about 30 minutes to get up the mountain. Be prepared for a considerable temperature drop at the top. Even in August, we were glad we had jackets. This is definitely a good way to spend an afternoon.

DW and I (seniors) took 11yr old grandson to the Snowbowl to ride the summer ski lift. We had done one before in Pennsy, but we didn't expect such a magnificent ride. We left from about 9K feet in August with temperature about 75F, three of us together on one chair. 25 minutes later we arrived at 11,500 ft and... More

The price for this activity is a bit high if you purchase through them. Liftopia.com has cheaper prices. The ride up and down was a bit exciting and was great. The view was wonderful with additional hiking opportunities at the top. We were at almost 12,000 feet elevation and so breathing became a bit difficult for us. We didn't hike... More

Thank you Cathy I for making us part of your weekend and sharing this experience with other guests. If time allows, please come back again during the fall colors when the chairlift takes you over the golden tree tops and the forest looks spectacular. You are also welcome to join us in winter for some skiing and riding. Thank you... More

Also, very cold at the top. We went during a very hot Phoenix summer. Fortunately, the employees warned us about the cold wind at the top and we took jackets. We definitely needed them. It was a fun way to spend a few hours.

Thank you BCNF for your comment. When the monsoon is active the temperatures at the top of the chairlift can drop significantly - by 20 degrees from the base of the lift and by almost 50-60 from the Valley. We do advise our guests to wear layers (jackets, sweaters or even light blankets) to make their ride comfortable. We are... More
