The greenway is a good location to run, walk, or bike in Murfreesboro. It has many access points- the most popular are at Old Fort Park (the greenway actually goes through the park) and Thompson Lane. The greenway is safe and flat. Police do regularly monitor the greenway; however there are a few stretches that are a little remote. It... More

This is local for us and we use it often. Lots of scenic areas along the river and it takes you from housing and shopping areas to downtown Murfreesboro. You may bring your dog(s) on a leash and let them take a dip in the river or visit the Bark Park which is on the trail.

One of the better walking trails I've been on. We were just visiting and are not that familiar with the area, but the portion we did walk was beautiful and well planned out. Great place for a relaxing/peaceful walk after shopping all day. We plan to visit this area often and will certainly be returning!

Beautiful walk along the river. The many trailheads make it easy to choose different routes and distances.

Get away from the noise and traffic. Go for a good walk! The Stones River Greenway is a network for trails through Murfreesboro roughly following the Stones River. There are trailheads with bathrooms every few miles. Some trailheads have playgrounds. I love the view of the river just down the trail from the Braxton Bragg Trailhead. The Manson Pike Trailhead... Wonderful way to get in some miles on the bike and see some country. We rode from downtown all the way to Priest Dam and back. It is not all flat as there are a few ups and downs on the route. It is also a good place to see some birds along the pathway.

This is great trail to take a walk, jog, run or bike. It seems like one of the only trails in Murfreesboro. In summer if looks like it can be a good place to take the kids to wade in the water. Good trail, and loved walking here when I was in Murfreesboro.

The Greenway is a great place to walk and just about the only option in Murfreesboro since there are no lakes, but if it's not a day where there are a lot of walkers it can be kind of spooky. I wouldn't walk it by myself or late in the day. Might be just me but I feel kind of... More
