There are a few places that a cool to see but you have to put up with a blistering sun or frozen tundra to enjoy them. Then there are those unique opportunities to visit a cool place and remain comfortable while seeing it. The Stones River Greenway offers a great place to walk, cool shady paved walkways [not all the... More

The entire walkway is so lovely. It is parallel to the Stones River. There are playgrounds along the way just off the paths, facilities for "pitstops" and even a bark park. I use it often and it is well traveled and there is alwayd a friendly face.

This is a great place to walk, bike, have a picnic and enjoy nature. There are many trailheads where you may begin your experience and approximately 17 miles of paved greenway with mile markers so you can track your progress.

Love to walk or bike? This is just the thing. Appropriately six miles of street like pathway, excellent for bikeing or walking. Scenic waterway on either side with shaded areas

Great place to ride bikes or take a walk. Lots of trees to keep you cool in the summer and many areas are near the river. Beautiful and scenic.

We have started making it a family tradition to walk there weekly and stop at the park on old fort for the kiddo! Perfect for stollers, bikes, and walking or running...

If you are the outdoor type, you will love this. I am not much for being outside walking among the trees and such. There have been a few times where someone was robbed or pushed around, but that is pretty much any where you go in any town. I would never walk the trail alone. I would take my husband... More

I ran 8.5 miles on the greenway on a Saturday afternoon. It is along the creek and most of it is secluded by trees on the side opposite of the creek. It was a warm day when I ran but I stopped at a couple of playgrounds for water. One was the OLD Fort Park. I also left the greenway... More

I am part of a running group and we run out here frequently. Day and night as it is lit at night. The outer loop is exactly one mile long. You can run it multiple times or go out to the Battlefield which connects somewhat to the Gateway. It is less than a half mile from it. The Gateway also... More

I am a frequent visitor of the greenway. I have run, biked, and walked here. It is well maintained and nicely shaded for much of the route. Also, it is beside the river and gives you places to enjoy wading in the water. We have taken our dog to the Bark Park along the greenway many times and walked over... More
