Mostly level and paved surface with a slight grade in one portion. Saw a red tail hawk from a few feet on a low branch, it just stayed on the branch as we walked on by also saw what appeared to be a beaver in the brook.

This path led us through the cool, peaceful woods, and then out to a beautiful view of the lake. We saw some type of a hawk sitting on a tree branch and then 3 baby deer as we were leaving the woods. The stone bridge is beautiful also. The 3.5 mile path gave us our exercise for the day! Bring your... More

I've always adored the walking path around lake Scranton. Not only does it bring back fond memories of walking the lake with my grandfather as a child, it continues to be a serene and dreamlike place to escape to as an adult. It is always clean, safe, and gorgeous, any time of the year. One note for travelers, it is... More

I travel to Scranton very often for work. Stay at the Radisson downtown and you are just down the road from this amazing jog and walk (whatever is best for you) Absolutely perfect for the business traveler.

Lake Scranton is absolutely gorgeous. This big lake is surrounded by a paved path that is roughly 4 miles long. It's a fairly easy walk, in regards to those with medical conditions that may hinder them from heavy exercise. There are a few mild hills, but nothing major. There's also plenty of big rocks or benches you can sit and... More

Lake Scranton is a lake surrounded by a paved path which is little wider than a car. It is owned by the water company. They do not allow dogs. Its a great place for a good workout. I know if I "walk the lake" I will get my entire workout in. I have seen many deer, turkeys, geese, chipmunks, squirrels,... More

Found this place by happy accident on a trip about 10 yrs ago. What a terrific place to walk. About 3.5 mi walk around the lake. Lots of wildlife to see, squirrels, chipmunks and deer. Locals are all friendly. Very well used trail and lots of nice free parking. Easy to reach from I-81 so if we're heading up or... More
