Totally spontaneous stop while passing through town (at the request of my teenage, basketball playing son). I really didn't know what to expect, and found the experience thoroughly enjoyable. Pros - I LOVED the artifacts. Signed Naismith ball, his original rules of the game, a 1911 Murad tobacco card, several of Mikan's game items, and that's just in one room .... the list goes on and on. Pre WWII artifacts up to Magic, Bird, Dr. J, ... they all have items there. I was surprised to see items there... more

This is basically a museum for basketball and no museum can truly do justice to an action-packed game, but they certainly try hard to do it. This is a great way to explore the history of basketball from its inception to today and see a lot more than a bunch of old uniforms. Great history for adults and the kids... more

I went to the Basketball Hall of Fame with high expectations. The museum has moved to a huge new space which I expected to be full of basketball memorabilia. Sometimes well visiting here, you just wish basketball wasn't born in the tired nasty city of Springfield. But there is nothing you can do about it. This Hall of Fame is better than it was since the old one sites next store and is more office spaces now, but even this huge upgrade still doesn't attract visitors to this shady... more
