Took the family on a wildlife boat tour while visiting Sitka on a cruise. This boat is large enough to feel safe, but small enough to feel intimate. Captain Mitch provided binoculars, cold beverages, and a steady stream of stories and interesting facts. We saw otters, eagles, and whales. Mitch even extended our tour a little in order to watch... I have been living in Sitka for almost a year now, and booked with Captain Mitch when my parents came to town. On our three hour tour (he even gave us an extra half hour!), Captain Mitch definitely showed them the best of Sitka's ocean wildlife. He was very knowledgeable, and knew exactly where all of the seals, otters, whales,... More

Such fun! we had crummy weather but Captain Bart was there on time to pick us up at the ship. We saw lots of whales, an otter with a baby, eagle, more whales, salmon. He was very informative and patient. He took the time to wait for the animals to show up and explained to us the process of salmon fishing.... More

My husband and I couldn't book a shore excursion via our cruiseline as they were all sold out so I went to tripadvisor to find one. BOY, was I glad I did! We had the tour of our dreams! Just the two of us, the captain and his helper, Halie. Very cool! We saw 2 whales, sea otters, eagles, salmon... More

To see animals in their own habitat is the focus of my trips and if that’s what you like too, this is the way to see them. We spent 3 weeks in Canada and Alaska on this trip and our excursion with Mitch was the highlight of this vacation because of the variety of animals, birds and marine life that... More

This trip was the highlight of our Alaskan cruise. Mitch was a knowledgeable and accommodating guide for the six of us on the excursion. We saw whales, orcas, otters, sealions, puffins, and more. He got us close to one small island where over 50 eagles were gathered! His powerful boat, Wild Horses, was perfect for wildlife viewing. He could cut... More

We felt really lucky to have been able to book this trip with Mitch. My husband and I took our 4 kids on this excursion in Sitka, rather than do one with the cruise line we had traveled on. It is much better for us to be in a small group than with 100 other people. We could stop and... More
