We decided at the last minute to try a guided kayak adventure. Everyone was so nice, the equipment was good and the kayaking was wonderful. We saw some wildlife in and out of the water. Our guide was sweet and wonderful. They gave us a big delicious homemade cookie to eat while out kayaking.

We took the Sitka Island Paddle and Lost Fort Trek. Caylen was our guide, and walked us through the kayak use & safety before we got near the water. The actual paddle to the island was just right for inexperienced kayakers, and we got to spend time on an island where we explored some WWII-era bunkers. Caylen's narrative of the... More

This was a great trip! First of all, we had the most perfect weather you could ask for in the beautiful town I Sitka. The gang at SSOA was helpful and best of all- Laid back😎. I would definitely recommend this adventure (and do it again).

We arrived in Sitka on a perfect day to explore on the water. Our tour guide was amazingly upbeat and encouraging. After we got geared up and learned about the safety tips we were out on the water. Within seconds we saw sea otters, salmon, crab and a bald eagle. Our path took us through major ports and quite outlets... More

We did an all day guided kayaking trip and it was awesome. We are fairly experiences kayakers, but the trip would be good for people at any level. They did a great job in outfitting us to stay warm and dry despite hazy/drizzly weather. Our guide took us at a comfortable pace and showed us beautiful scenery around the local... More

We are 2 retired schoolteachers who enjoy their retirement. Conner added more joy to our first trip to Sitka and our first kayaking trip; he is unbeatable. I taught for 36 years middle school level, my partner Brandon taught 25 years high school geoscience. We can confirm and grade Conner for his knowledge and willingness to work with people. His... So impressed with how quickly we got on the water - no time wasted. A wonderful day kayaking with Connor, weaving in and out of the islands around Sitka. For sure we would have gotten lost if we had gone on our own, and having the pick up at the end of the day allowed us to go further out.... More

Some friends asked my spouse and I to take this trip with them, and wow, I'm so glad that we did. Connor from Sitka Sound Ocean Adventures really took care of us on our three-day, two-night kayak excursion. It didn't even matter that it rained the entire time because the gear SSOA supplied was amazing and the scenery was so... More

Melana, our biologist guide, took us around eight miles of stunning coastal waters. We saw seal, otter, eagle, jellies, sea stars, you name it! We were only 2 kayaks total. 4 people. We were able to go further, see more, and love the silence. Plus, the BEST DAMNED HOMEMADE COOKIES EVER. This is the real deal, folks. Good for all... More

This was the perfect outing while our cruise ship stopped in Sitka. From the outset, they went out of their way to accommodate our group. Our guides were helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Grandma's homemade cookies were yummy and it didn't hurt that we ended up with beautiful weather. We would definitely go again.
