My boyfriend and I were visiting the area and decided to stop in to look at backpacks for a later trip. The owner was wonderful! He was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in fitting us each for the correct pack. He took the time to chat with us and didn't rush us even though the store was closing. We had a... More

The owner was in and we chatted for a good 30 minutes. Very helpful and knowledgable about the local community, and the Trail community. The shop has everything a long distance backpacker could need as well as the day hiker and weekend adventurer. The place is somewhere I'd hang out if I lived closer. We hit up a very nice... More

I love this place! I wish I would have taken the time to find out the name of the clerk who helped me on a Saturday morning in July. I discovered the morning of a backpacking trip that my 20-year-old backpack was missing a front belt clasp! My trip was doomed. We left the DC area for Luray in hopes... More

I stopped in here with a through-hiker friend on the Appalachian Trail. He was having really bad foot problems and needed new shoes. The woman in the store (I believe her name was Linda) was extremely accommodating and very helpful. She made sure that my friend was not rushed in looking at shoes and gave him thorough explanations for every... More

We walked into this store feeling very accomplished as we had just finished a 10 mile hike, but left with a bad taste. The man at the register said nothing other than that will be 20 dollars. Not sure if he was having a bad day or was just really that displeased with his job. I could understand if the... More

Very well stocked store, we wandered in while strolling through Luray. Two stories of great gear in good varieties. The two ladies running it were super friendly and extremely knowledgeable, especially about the ruff wear pet hiking/camping items and their other camping gear. Prices are on a par with most everywhere in Virginia, we were happy with our purchases, the... More
