After having open heart surgery in April to correct a defective valve,I think my son,who is the greatest son ever, was worried we hadn't spent enough life time together arranged this trip. Appalachian Adventures made us feel extremely welcome and set us up in one of the 4 cabins at the rivers edge. We were the second group that stayed... More

My girlfriend used this company for the ATV tours offered as a surprise for my birthday weekend. So my review is only about my exprience I had with Appalachian Adventures. The guide tour was very pleasant and patience with our group. This was my first time so she did a great job explaining how to use the ATV, what to... More

This review is for Appalachian Adventures Valley View of Pumpkin Hill lodging. This is the 7th Luray area property that we've stayed in and the only one that has disappointed us and left us feeling that we didn't get what we paid for. The fact that their exit survey asks if we'd be willing to pay 25% more if they... More

So take my review with somewhat of a grain of salt because we got rained out. Appalachian Adventures runs a pretty tight ship and they seem to really know what they're doing when it comes to both safety and achieving your goal (whether it be rapids or still water kayaking/canoeing/etc) I wouldn't have reviewed this because we didn't get to... Love this store. Good selection of wear, even for everyday wear (not just "through hikers"). Right in the center of town. Love the owner; always a friendly word for shoppers.

Nice staff with a lot of helpful hints. Just be sure to check the river level before you go. Too low and you end up doing a lot of work and getting stuck on the ledges and rock Too high and you may miss the beauty of the scenery as you float past too quickly.

Had a great time with Matt and John. I drove a UTV with my 13 year old and my husband and son rode ATVs and found the course quite challenging.

Had a wonderful time with "Uncle Tom" fishing. He knew where to go, what to use and how to do it. My daughter caught a 10lb catfish (with a little help from Tom:) ) and that really made the trip! All the perch and bass were fun too! A nice relaxing fishing trip on a nice boat with a great... More

Went recently for a bachelor party to do ATV riding and shooting. We had 13, so our group got split up into three smaller groups. The shooting.... If you have never shot a gun before, you'd probably enjoy it. For those who own guns, THIS IS NOT FOR YOU. For what our group paid for shooting ($100/each x 13), we... More

We used them for ATV rentals. Our guide, Jimmy, was awesome. I would definitely recommend them. Make sure you do it for at least 2 hours.
