We had a tubing trip on the Shenandoah river, a great day out. Be prepared for a 4-5 hr float down the river, a tad too long for us, in hindsight we should have took a raft so we could have speeded it up a little. A few small rapids, (you will get wet) a few rocks to negotiate and... More

We arrived for the marker 16-19 raft trip. We got our equipment and went to the bathroom and then took what seemed like a very long uncomfortable bus ride to the site on unpaved road. The water was dirty, I'm guessing from the cows in the water, there was gross stuff floating all over. Glad we were in a raft... More

Disgusting and disappointing! From the picture on this site, and the rave reviews, I expected beautiful water and great service. Instead, we spent 4 exhausting hours practically becalmed on a slow, filthy river, separated from our friends. After we arrived and picked out our life jackets, we were sent to a small shack to pick out our own tubes. Then... More

Had a lovely day tubing down the river. Booked online before we arrived which worked well. SRO are actually quite a long drive from Luray so leave plenty of time to get there. We just made it. Tubing is good fun - but try and make sure you go on a hot sunny day. It would get quite cold if... More

Some friends and I just went tubing with Shenandoah River Outfitters this past weekend. We had a blast! The river is very relaxing and slow so its great to pack a cooler with sandwiches and drinks and float on the river while chatting with friends. A lot of people also rented canoes or kayaks which may be an option next... More

Great stretch of the Shendandoah River for a canoe trip. We did the first section, about 8 miles (to marker 8).

Friendly and helpful employees. The check-in process is complete mayhem! I had no idea where I was supposed to go or what I was supposed to do. They told me to "get a life jacket" so I did. After that, I saw a group of people filling out forms at a table. I saw they were releases so I grabbed... More

This was our third time at SRO. The first two times were good experiences. This time not so much. We were with a party of six and were going tubing. We picked out our tubes, packed up the bus and went to the drop off sight with another party of two. The SRO employee dropped us off and unloaded the... More

After Class V white-water rafting in West Virginia, the Shenandoah River is a wonderfully relaxing change of pace. We did a 3-mile tubing trip that offered a few riffles and some fun ledges for a bit of excitement. It was a very pleasant time, and the folks at Shenandoah River Outfitters were very helpful and easy to work with. We... More

My husband and I rented 2 kayaks for a day on the river. On Saturdays the Outfitter provides lunch and dinner to those who want to do that. We decided to do this. About halfway down the river (kayaked 12 miles total) you stop at a specific location to eat lunch. All you can eat burgers, potatoe salad, pasta salad,... More
