We purposely sought out this bar to have a quick drink. Door was wide open, and owner was behind bar serving a couple. My friends and I walked in and he said they weren't open until 5:00, when the band showed up. We stated that we just wanted a quick drink, and he refused to serve us, as couple at... More

Like most other reviews say, the owner is a really jerk!! Don't put your drink down if you want to remember the night . The owner will be real nice if you are female. BEWARE!!!!!!!!

We spent the day in the plaza shopping and enjoying the beautiful galleries. We were ready to sit down somewhere and have a quick drink. We looked up and saw Evangelos and are so thankful we did! Zenobia and J Boy were playing. Where else can you hear Grammy nominated musicians for just a $5 cover? The locals, bartender and... More

By the way, TripAdvisor -- Evangelo's is a bar, not an attraction. The range of reviews are probably due to expectations and age/background of the reviewers. I walked by on Sunday afternoon and heard really good music upstairs from Jay Boy and Zenobia. They were supposed to play until 7 pm so I moved on and came back at 6... More

I have traveled extensively and have to say a one of the worst bars ever. a couple of fancy pictures and a story about your relative does not change what this place really is. An overpriced overrated place in need of condemning.

The owner called mr a b**ch and my husband fag*t. This is not made up folks. The bathroom needs to be condemned. The NFL package? A lie. They turned it off in the middle of a close game because they wanted to save a few bucks by sending staff from the downstairs home ( which led to the name calling... More

I only give it two circles because for now it's the best venue for live music in Santa Fe. Sad but true. It is expensive, the bathrooms should be condemned, and the owner is a jerk. If money isn't a big deal you can have a pretty good time there. Johnny the bartender is great. If Nick is tending bar,... More

Im 29 yrs old and been to a lot of bars in most of the major cities in the southwest but none compare to this awesome bar. great history, music and honestly a nice change up from the tourism like atmosphere you get from every other bar or grill in The Plaza.

We dropped in to this local bar to watch a blues/rock band and have a couple of drinks. Downstairs is a small club but we stayed upstairs and thoroughly enjoyed the music and a visit with Nick. Drop by for a drink and learn about Nick's famous father, famous people who have come in or filmed movies there and why... More

This is to update an earlier review. Not much has changed in 3 years. Beers still @ $5. No cash. Great music in a small venue (upstairs, this isn't for the underground). It's just a good place to hang out. When a band isn't playing, it's a good place to drink beer and talk to friends--and maybe even meet a... More
