Great place to hang out - We stumbled across it when we got dumped off at the Plaza on a very cold December night, at 9:00, from a Sandia Shuttle (better to rent yourself a car in ABQ). Great beer selection and great vibe in the place. It is small, but very lively. Be sure to have Nick Klonis (the... More

If you appreciate true grit.... You've found it here. Good people and good times. Family owned and operated since 1970. Those who don't drink Tequila need not apply.

Great music and atmosphere. Filmed bar scene of Crazy Heart here. You are able to get up close and personal with the bands. Evidently the original owner, a WWII veteran, was a pretty famous GI. Historical photos in the bar add to the colorful scene.

I love Evangelo's. My friend and I visited three years ago after reading the negative reviews and couldn't be in Santa Fe again without stopping in. It's amazing this place survives in a town that has gone so incredibly upscale and thank goodness it does. It's a welcome break from wandering the pretentious and expensive shops. I've never been to... More

This place is a nightmare. Saw a female bartender cuss a guy out because the headliner they advertised didn't perform and he asked for a refund. Very unprofessional. The drinks are overpriced. Not to mention they don't serve any drafts at all. Worst place to see a concert. I will never go back. This place won't last much longer. Everybody... More

This is a dive with GREAT music and interesting crowd! Bathrooms are horrible, no wait staff...order at bar but the music was amazing! We found the bartenders and band super nice...I guess you get back what you put out there! The local crowd was so friendly and we just loved it. I have to say that we did have second... More

Despite the money we spent in this place over the New Years Eve, they didn't let us wait our cab inside. The bouncer was extremely rude. He literally kicked us out and had us wait in cold for 45 minutes until our cab arrived. Worst restaurant/bar experience ever.

This dive bar is out of place in downtown Santa Fe. It's like a dose of reality when everything around seems overtly touristy. We ordered two rounds from the bar and took them to our seats. There didn't appear to be any waitstaff. But that was fine. The music was good and not too loud. Our drinks were generously poured... More

Spent a couple of weeks on the Plaza in November. Yes, the first night in Evangelo's was not warm and fuzzy. Nick, his daughter and staff are not exactly welcoming to newbies. I kinda don't blame them because you learn to be cautious when operating a dive bar as you never know who's walking in the door. But by the... More
