Toured the museum as part of the 376th Heavy Bombardment Group Veterans Association. Were met at the door by the new man in charge, Lt Gonzales, New Mexico National Guard. He gave us a great tour of the museum in spite of being on the job for less than two weeks. We are well served with men like him protecting... More

Glad we went but the museum needs a little sprucing up. It is not interactive. Not enough detail of the items on display. It seemed like a collection of items but not curated. Interesting to see contribution that New Mexicans had made from the Civil War on. Museum is free but check the hours.

We were in Santa Fe on a Saturday as part of a vacation, and attempted to visit this museum. I had seen it on tripadvisor and decided it would fit into our schedule. I had visited their website and it showed them open on Saturdays beginning at 10, as does the big sign out in front of the building. But... More

The museum primarily recognizes the New Mexico National Guard both from The Great War (World War I) up and through the present conflicts of Iraq and Afghanistan with a significant amount of focus on World War II and the Bataan Death March (World War II - Philippines). In the entrance corridor this are photos and documentaries of those from New... More

This little out of the way museum was well worth the visit. Located at the National Guard headquarters and not in the downtown area, but if you are into military history, especially World War II, you have to visit here! Free, but please leave a donation to help maintain the exhibits.

I have wanted to visit this museum for at least 2 previous trips to Santa Fe but, never made it happen. This time I was determined to see just what the "BATAAN" museum was had to offer. Turns out the museum houses historical military record of military actions and service of conflicts clear back in time to when the U.S.... More

Before I visited Santa Fe, I found out there is a memorial/museum dedicated to the Bataan March: The Bataan Memorial and Military Museum. The New Mexico National Guard units 200th/515th Coastal Artillery were one of the main captives held during the march and subsequent captivity. Besides highlighting the Bataan March, the museum also has information on general New Mexican military... More

This is the sort of museum where my wife reads every word and misses no artifacts. And I almost matched her thoroughness. From the old west to the present day, the museum tells the story of New Mexican military history. We had particular interest in the Bataan death march and the museum didn't disappoint. The 10-minute film narrated by Alec... More

What a suprise when I visited this museum. I have seen a lot a military musuems and this is a small gem that anyone who has an interest in history, espically military history should visit. Yes, it does have some history on the Bataan Death March but is has more of a lot of other things. They have artifacts dating... More

This small, but growing museum is a tribute to all the Soldiers from New Mexico, especially the soldiers who were in the Bataan Death March and were on the "hell-ship" transporting them to the POW camps and forced labor. The movie is a must to understand what they all endured. Their bodies looked similar to the bodies in Nazi death... More
