Ten Thousand Waves is inspired by the great Japanese mountain hot spring resorts. Ten minutes from downtown Santa Fe, but only minutes from the National Forest, there is nothing quite like this on the North American continent. Among piñons and junipers are beautiful outdoor hot tubs and spa suites, world-class bodywork & skin care, and the amazing izanami restaurant. For a lucky few, it is the closest lodging to the Santa Fe Ski area.P Open 9 am-10:30 pm everyday except Tuesday noon-10:30 pm

I called Ten Thousand waves at 5:00 pm and was scheduled for a massage followed by a fabulous dinner 2 hours later. The massage was great. Hot baths very nice. The women's tub was hotter than the community tub. Saunas were nice. Lots of clean towels available all over the resort. Cute gift shop. We really enjoyed our time.

It does not get much better than soaking in a reasonably priced private hot tub, alone or with company, on a cold winter night and staring at the stars in a light pollution environment.

Ten Thousand Waves is one of the best spas I have experienced. It was relaxing and had a variety of options. I had the 80 minute theraputic massage. My back was not hurting when. I left!! The baths were nice and the outdoor environment was perfect. The grand finale was eating lunch at the restaurant next door!

Yesterday's visit was my fourth in the last couple of years and the first to be a serious disappointment. Perhaps a harbinger was neither of the therapists from prior visits were working. (Unclear whether they have departed or were off.) The therapist assigned to me was only interested in vigorous techniques despite my pleas for a gentle massage. Should have... More

Give it a try, serene, great private pool rooms with outdoor view, and can bring your own bottle of wine. I hear the RV's (airstreams) in the backlot that you can rent! are really cool

Cool property. Great deep tissue massage. Very busy and "people flow" throughout the property seemed awkward and detracted from the private intimate feel you get at most spas. Seeing so many people sort of kicked my inner germaphobe into action. Common hot tub had kids in it which was slightly annoying as most people were there to get away from... More

Sad to say this place is a hollow shell of its former self. I've been going for years, and the decline is accelerating. But for some very good massage therapists, this review would have been one star, and its those therapists that will keep me going back. The facility itself is worse following its remodel and new suits-required policy. The... More

This was my first visit to the spa. I have done many others in the past and had high hopes from the reviews. The appointment was for the early evening for a therapeutic massage. The spa is located many steps up at the top of a hill. The reception was average with lots of people gathered around-not a quiet and... More

This was my first time at this fabulous japanese style spa. We went for a full day, starting with lunch. I had the sake flight of five different sakes, which quickly rendered me happy and tipsy. We then went over for our hot tub. Since we were early they sent us on up to the private tub for an extra... More
