Ten Thousand Waves is inspired by the great Japanese mountain hot spring resorts. Ten minutes from downtown Santa Fe, but only minutes from the National Forest, there is nothing quite like this on the North American continent. Among piñons and junipers are beautiful outdoor hot tubs and spa suites, world-class bodywork & skin care, and the amazing izanami restaurant. For a lucky few, it is the closest lodging to the Santa Fe Ski area.P Open 9 am-10:30 pm everyday except Tuesday noon-10:30 pm

I don't think I need to write a review of this spa/restaurant/lodging venue, except I want to just add my five stars to the record. Even though we live in the Dallas Fort Worth area where there are lots of spas and restaurants, we drive ten hours to come here anytime we can. I generally get one of the Master... More

My sister and I did the ichiban room for 90 minutes and it was perfect: 2 outdoor private hot tubs, a napping/hangout space, outdoor rain shower, bathroom, showers and sauna. Super private and they even give you a 15 min. Time check on a small intercom rather than someone coming into the space. Take advantage of the quiet room with... More

This place is so special - - it is FANTABULOUS in every way, ANY time of year. As everywhere else in the Santa Fe area though, Winters are especially lovely. You will NOT be disappointed . . .

The website encourages spa guests to spend at least 3 hours at Ten Thousand Waves. This is so true. My husband and I spent 3 hours and actually should have stayed at least 4 hours. We did a private bath, massages, and facials. The private bath is a must! We started our experience with the private bath and wished we... More

We went with a spa package that included a private hot tub room, a couples massage, and a $60 (2x $30) voucher for lunch at their restaurant, Izanami. It was about $350, which included taxes, but not including a gratuity for the massage therapists. Nudity is no longer allowed in the common pool areas and sauna areas. As we had... More

I've been here many times and love it. So very quiet and peaceful. Love going when it's snowing. Get the salt glow!

Ten Thousand Waves no longer emulates a traditional Japanese onsen, as it did for many years since it opened. The traditional clothing-optional policy at the community pool and sunning deck has been replaced with a policy requiring swimsuits (which management is happy to rent to guests to whom the new policy is unwelcome news). Management blames the new policy on... More

Thanks for your nice words about our massage. We're committed to providing a consistent amazing experience. Our new Grand Bath is actually a much more faithful rendition of a traditional Japanese onsen than the wooden tub it replaced. Although swim suits are never worn in the vast majority of the (hundreds of) thousands of baths in Japan, you'd have to... More

This is a beautiful oasis of calm and pleasure. The private hot tub was a gentle start to a beautiful day. We treated ourselves to a private tub. The staff were all accommodating and pleasant. This was the best hot stone massage I have ever had. Lunch was delicious. Our afternoon was spent on head/shoulder and foot massages. We could... More

A true Japanese style spa with hot tubs to soak in and excellent massage therapies ! Shiatsu is the best I have had in the US.

Thanks! We bring a master teacher from Japan twice a year for extensive training with our staff. We're proud to offer some of the only genuine Japanese-style shiatsu in North America. More
