Delve into the pleasures of sipping chocolate made from treasured secret recipes (like from the founding fathers and ancient Aztecs) with the finest ingredients. These guys are connoisseurs of the highest order. I like to take a friend and split a lavender truffle or thick rich brownie while sipping a 6 oz. cup of chocolate. Whether it's a totally new... Drove past Kakawa on our way to our hotel - a distinct building easy to spot! Once I read it was a place for chocolate I've been on a mission to visit! Our business here is done, so now our visit is relaxed-and what a great place to start! We both tasted three drinking chocolates (8 on the menu) and... More

Saw this place listed as the #1 place in Santa Fe, so had to check it out. We had the American liquid Chocolate drink and caramel brownie. YUM! After sipping our drinks and devouring our brownie, we decided to take 4 drink mixes home with us. Next day, we returned for additional chocolates and truffles for the road. Don't miss... More

The best service with the best chocolate! Definitely a must do when you are in Santa Fe. I recommend the caramelized goat cheese with sage truffle, sounds weird but oh so good 😋

A full day in Santa Fe: New Mexico Museum of Art, lunch at the Hotel St. Francis, perusal of the New Mexico History Museum, puddle jumping among tourists and vendors. We deserved a little chocolate. A quick walk from the Catherdral took us to Kakawa Chocolate House where both "Meso-american" (100% )Chocolate, and American (70%) hot chocolate drinks are offered.... More

Don't miss this little cafe for great, unique hot chocolate. They have spicy, New Mexican style hot chocolate or more sweet European style hot chocolate. We have tried 5 different kinds and loved them all. Their chocolate candy is delicious too.
