We loved our visit. The staff is very friendly and helpful with selections. Try a sample if the elixir before you order a full serving (don't be shy, the staff wants you to be happy with your selection). We opted for the large chocolate elixirs, but will order a small next time. This is our personal preference due to the... More

One of the most memorable place I visited while in Santa Fe. The gentleman who waited on me was awesome. After a few samples of hot chocolate, I picked one. And before leaving had to buy some more goodies to try later. I was warned that the hot chocolate with cacao nibs would pick me up! Not only that, I... More

Some excellent chocolate choices: - Brownies are a great value! - Sea Salt Ice Cream is excellent - Elixirs are great, but the better value comes from the larger quantity!

If you are coming here expecting the type of chocolate you get at Starbucks, you'll be disappointed. But if you are looking for something a little different, with some American history, then give it a try. The Jeffersonian is worth trying, based on a recipe from Thomas Jefferson.

What a unique experience! The staff lets you sample the different kinds of chocolate. After sampling, I ordered a small cup of Maya: dark chocolate seasoned with chile and other spices. Nice burn, and rich flavor. My husband tried Tzul, milk chocolate with spices. Both were delicious and served in beautiful blue and white Mexican pottery. The store also has... More

This is a special place. If you have never tried sipping chocolate you have to some here. Sample until you find your favorite.

This was on my daughter's must do list for Santa Fe. There is a small café where you can enjoy your purchases and/or samples. There are brownies, cookies, solid chocolate and liquid chocolate served in cups. The friendly staff offers samples of all the liquids. Some are very traditional and some are very unique (flavored with spices and chili). They... More

My family goes to Santa Fe once a year and after a day skiing we ALWAYS stop at Kakawa. Their service is amazing, their desserts incredible and all 5 of us are fully satisfied. You'll start by sampling for free the rich chocolate flavors. All of the workers are incredibly knowledgeable about chocolate. After a friendly exchange with the owner... More

Wonderful place to sit and enjoy a cup of elixir to rejuvenate the soul! Staff is friendly and helpful. And they make their own chocolate - what more could you want?!
