We walked and walked to find this place and it was worth it if you love chocolate! Hot day and the chocolate soda was the hit! We enjoyed sampling the chocolate elixirs and had a rose caramel too. yum. a bit pricey but good quality. Cute decor and "day of the dead" figurine for photo op!

We stopped here on a recent trip to Santa Fe and ended up coming back every day. The horchata is amazing( I've been trying to replicate since we got home with no luck) and the drinking chocolate is delicious( luckily they had bags of that for me to take home). The lavender caramels were the best thing I ever put... More

What a great spot for a nice chocolate treat. The place is small and very popular, so it was packed, but you'll soon know why! We tired several truffles and a few different kinds of chocolate drinks - all were delicious. The only thing that gets a little tough, is the ordering process - the lines get confused and anxious... If you want to indulge in chocolate consumption till you are comatose, this is the place for you. The staff can't wait to get to work every day. That tells me that this little shop is a happy place to be. You have to experience this to understand its magical effect on your happy genes.

The owner states: "Our passion is authentic and historic drinking chocolates elixirs." Tony explained about the Chocolate House and was very engaging and gave us free samples of the elixirs'. Then, you see all the house made chocolates - my favorite the salted chocolate caramel. But on a second visit I noticed the homemade ice creams and now I am... More

A great place for an afternoon pick-me-up. Try one of the many elixirs or my favourite, the horchata

The whole "drinking chocolate " was a new and wonderful experience ! The many combinations were tasty(I tried 4 different blends) and smooth! The brownies are a delight as well ! Attentive service made the home like cottage come to life !!

This charming shop with friendly, upbeat employees offers just about anything a chocolate lover could want from heavenly elixirs to pomegranate truffles. Only a couple of customers stood by the counter when we entered mid-afternoon on a Saturday, but the place was mobbed when we left. The board displayed the daily menu of drinking elixirs in two categories -- Meso... More

This place is fantastic, and we are chocolate addicts. We've been to chocolate shops wherever we go. This is one of the best. It doesn't hurt that they set up shop in one of the best chile-growing areas. I love the different offerings, including the chocolate drinks (elixirs) and they were willing to let us sample everything. Something for everyone... More

Kakawa has REAL hot chocolate. There are two menus of chocolate elixers that change daily, one European and the other Mexican. High quality chocolate is melted with herbs, spices, and various liquids and served in a demitasse, or a larger cup if you want a large one. Most of these have no milk, but a few of them do. These...
