A full day in Santa Fe: New Mexico Museum of Art, lunch at the Hotel St. Francis, perusal of the New Mexico History Museum, puddle jumping among tourists and vendors. We deserved a little chocolate. A quick walk from the Catherdral took us to Kakawa Chocolate House where both "Meso-american" (100% )Chocolate, and American (70%) hot chocolate drinks are offered.... More

Don't miss this little cafe for great, unique hot chocolate. They have spicy, New Mexican style hot chocolate or more sweet European style hot chocolate. We have tried 5 different kinds and loved them all. Their chocolate candy is delicious too.

Thank you Tom,We really enjoy your services. Loved it !!!

This is a chocolate lover's dream! You can try samples of all of the many hot chocolates available for that day. I can't remember which ones we tried now that a few months have gone by, but if this place was in my neighborhood I would get to know the menu well. We also had some yummy truffles. The staff... If you are shopping on Canyon Road, you can't miss a stop a few blocks away at Kakawa Chocolate House. They offer small cups of their chocolate elixirs ranging from mild to spicy. Their handmade truffles have some really unique flavor combinations and include things like chili or lavender. This is a good spot for both your average chocolate lover... More

The visit can be short, but make sure you do visit Kakawa Chocolate House in Santa Fe. Have an elixir or two and sit for a bit in the nice atmosphere while you decide what you're taking home with you. I recommend trying the different chile elixirs for a different spin on chocolate.

We're huge fans of the movie Chocolat and going to Kakawa was like our favorite movie come to life. "Chili pepper in hot chocolate" was exquisite as were the truffles we took home (and are still enjoying!) The service was excellent, the hosts treated us like we were family. All around a wonderful experience, we'll definitely be back!

From the inviting staff and owner to the decor and the warm atmosphere Kakawa is the perfect destination for anyone. We stopped here every day of our visit and enjoyed our experience both times. Delicious decedent chocolate in liquid form is just the perfect pick me up. Kudos!

My family and I love visiting Kakawa when "eating" our way through Santa Fe! I love the American chocolate drink and recently fell in love with the crispy chocolate chip cookies! (Yes, I even went back two days in a row for the cookies.) My husband and son loved the caramel brownie and my daughter loved the ice cream. There... More

Who knew chocolate had such subtlety, range and potential. This small cafe-like building houses a variety of warm, smooth, blissfully complex chocolate drinks served in small mugs. The basic order is about the size of a double espresso. The store's chalk menu contains flavors that are bitter, sweet, spicy, earthy ... whatever you're in the mood for. And the owner... More
