If you're killing time in Santa Fe, the local library is worth a quick visit. I was disappointed to find that I wasn allowed to remove a book even though I was in town for a week and owned a Chicago library card as well.

I really appreciate and like the Santa Fe Public Library. The system works really well and the staff I've met have been outstanding folks. The on-line catalog and system for finding, reserving and renewing materials, works quite well. I rate the downtown library a 3 only because of parking. Between the lack of spaces, the fact that it is all... More

Cool building - check out the reading room on the first floor. Very conducive to sitting and enjoying a book.

The library is right next to the hotel we stayed at, Hotel Chimayo de Santa Fe. The area is very touristy, but I found lacking in things for children to do. Thankfully this was just a few steps away. It is a beautiful library with the children's area being upstairs. I was able to read a few books to my... More

I love all libraries, and go frequently. Main library is now being repainted outside (finally). The LaFarge branch is in near or a total remodel and smells. The Southside Library on Jaguar is new and beautiful, but a bit out of the way for most people.

This Santa Fe Public Library is not large, but the building is historic and beautiful and in a great location just north of the historic downtown Plaza. The library features a nice reading area with a good selection of magazines and periodicals to peruse. Staff is usually pretty helpful, and this is a great place to take a quick break... More

the library has great selection of new works, and great collections of writers you may have missed in the past. Great on-line services for the price of a membership (which is FREE)! DVDs, paperbacks, kids selections -- all quality and quantity.

Nice escape from the cold and a fairly good reading room. Not a huge library as far as that goes, there are better ones in South Santa Fe, but for downtown, to take a load off your feet it is very comfortable.

The library has a good newspaper and magazine reading room, and a great collection of southwest literature. Good place to visit on walking tour of the Plaza and down town Santa Fe. Its periodic sales of used books are great for bargains and seeing books one has given away years ago.
