Make this drive out of town into the mountains. It is really beautiful. Check out the hiking trails and see a whole different Santa Fe.

We were looking for a break from Santa Fe and Hyde Memorial Park was it! Within an hour we were sledding in the snow! But stop a sporing goods store to pick up a sled!

We enjoyed traveling into the country a bit, but the roads were narrow and a recent snowfall caused the roadside overlooks to be difficult to navigate. If it had been later in the season or in the fall, I believe the views would have been stunning.

If you like the woods this is your place! Went in the middle of august, slept in a tent it was awesome! I thought I might get sick from the high elevation but, it had no effect on me. The park rangers were very friendly. Would love to come here in the winter!

for sledding and tubing. Kind of a wait in line, but it is free to use and a lot of fun. Parking is a bit limited.

My husband, who is from Santa Fe, has always wanted to take me up to Hyde park because he thought I would love its beauty and remind me of some of the places I used to visit as a kid. I loved it, it was beautiful, just as he said. He took me to the top and where the Aspen... More

We did not avail ourselves of the skiing, but had a lovely drive to the summit and back. The large scenic overlook located mid-way on the way down gave a great view of the mountains.

We were surprised how quickly we entered the mountains after leaving Santa Fe. The park is only a 10 min. drive out of downtown. Beautiful views overlooking the valley below if you continue on past the park a little ways. We plan to return to hike and camp in this area in the summer! $5 day use fee for park.... More

Fun place to go to sled! If you don't want to ski or just want to have fun with the kids you can sled at Hyde park for free. Actually you do have to pay to park but it was cheap!

Just a few minutes drive out of town this park is a gem for a 3 mile scenic hike that will tax the sea-level flatlander. On up the road is the ski area with views that inspire and snow in the woods. The area is set up for a great camping expirence with shelters and fire rings which can be... More
