The objects on display were generally fascinating, but the museum has a number of problems - including poor labelling, a lack of providing context, and poor lighting (although that is often to protect artifacts, this museum did not say if that's true in this case, and many of the labels were also poorly lit). This museum is excellent; a real learning experience with none of the stuffiness sometimes unfortunately associated with museums. Here you hear men and women telling their own stories and those of their people. You are shown a different way of life and the cost of history, and are left to form your own conclusions. Our family only visited a few museums in Santa Fe and we are glad we went here. It was wonderful. Be sure to take your teenagers. They will enjoy this one. more

I'm surprised there are no reviews of this museum, which is the best of the group at Museum Hill. A very informative and moving collection. Also has an excellent gift shop with high quality goods at reasonable prices. more
