Beautiful lights at Christmastime

The plaza is charming at Christmastime. All trees decorated with strands of colored lights. Don't miss the farolitas on Christmas Eve and the walk to Canyon Road.

I liked the outdoor market in front of the Governor's Place. I like the fact that I can purchase pueblo art/pottery/jewelry and give the money directly to the artists. Other than that, plaza feels very touristy (Santa Fe itself is a touristy town).

Just steps away from LaFonda are lots of shops and things to see. Great for a stroll after a meal.

The Old World charm of everything in the Plaza and surrounding blocks is a must see for Santa Fe. Get out and walk, some of the architecture is just perfectly picturesque. Really a beautiful place to see.

The Plaza CAN be a zoo, jam-packed with tourists. However, during the "off season" (we were there Dec 13-15), it is quiet and relaxing. Stores were open but the streets and plaza were not crowded.

Lots of shopping, friendly tourists and shop owners. Native American items for sale by the artists lining the plaza, keeping warm in the New Mexico sun.

Lots of beautiful wares to be found, both set out by the Indians, but most of the stores have very expensive items. I did find some beautiful clothing in the little trading post on a side street.

This is a typical plaza, nothing amazing about it, but you can't walk on the grass, bummer! Would be a good place to propose or buy some artwork right off the Native American "bizarre" at the Governor's Palace!
