I can't imagine the experience we had on the Western Prince II being any better. Besides those things not under control, the weather and the whales, the boat is clean and comfortable, and the crew is knowledgeable and friendly. When we left the crew had knowledge of where the whale were heading, and they took us right there. On the... more

We enjoyed our time on the Zodiac Boat run by the Western Prince out of San Juan Island. This couple Chris (female) and Ivan are a husband and wife team that love the whales and it shows. After reading reviews on here we were sure we wanted to do the "fast boat" instead of the Western Prince, the bigger boat... more

My daughter and I went through heck and high water to get there, but the crew of the Western Prince II - along with generous face time by the local Orca pods - made for a beautiful and unforgettable excursion on the Salish Sea. The naturalists on board and the Captain of our vessel were so full of joy and... more

The crew was courteous and obviously passionate about the wildlife they were sharing with us the passengers. The captain took care balancing good views for the passengers and appropriately navigating to ensure the safety of the whales. Not only did John Boyd the tour guide capture some great digital photos that he emailed at no charge he also called one... more

The Western prince was recommended to my husband and I by another tour captain whose boat was already full. What a great trip! The boat is clean, comfortable, well equipped and seaworthy. Captain Hobbes kept us with the whales, while maintaining a respectful distance. There was lots of whale activity. And JB and Sarah are very knowledgeable guides. We learned... more

My husband and I went out on Saturday, September 12th with the Western Prince. We had such a great time, that we decided to spend the afternoon with them as well. It was a dream.... still can't believe everything that we saw with the whales. Saw breaching and spy hopping. Plus we saw Ruffles in the afternoon. What can I... more

We loved this whale watch tour. The boats are well-equpped with a bathroom, and snack bar, and protection from cold weather and rain, if it happens (and it did). It was a lucky day, because we got some awesome glimpses of the local whales. But we also saw eagles, sea otters, and a whole host of other wildlife along the... more

Captain Hobbs and the 2 naturalists on board led us through an awesome experience that will never be forgotten. We were worried about spending $75 per person and not being able to actually see anything but in the end it was a great day, the weather was perfect, the whales were out, and the naturalists were extremely knowledgable. They talked... more

When I chose a whale watching trip, I selected the small zodiac-type boat Western Explorer owned by Western Prince and I was not disappointed. I traveled with my husband, our 11 and 14 year old children, and my visiting brother. We all had an excellent time. Although opportunities to view marine mammals and other wildlife may vary from day to... more

My family and I planned a trip to Friday Harbor and after all my research knew that we had to go with Western Prince. Our first day was on the Western Prince 2 and it was so good we didn't want it to end. Captain Peter put us on J pod and the trip was amazing with Nann and my... more
